Everest base camp trek
Reaching Everest base camp has always been a dream of most trekkers. However, the difficulty level for trekking to the Everest base camp is moderate but the main challenge is its altitude as the trek starts at 3,000 meters, and the base camp is located at 5400 meters above sea level which is a great height.
It should be noted, however, that trekking above 3000 meters makes greater demands on the body than walking at low elevations. You have to understand that trekking in the Himalayas means uphill and downhill walking in the remote parts. So your health and physical fitness play a vital role in completing this lifetime adventure.
This memorable journey to Everest Base Camp starts with a Trans-Himalayan flight to the mountain airstrip of Lukla (2,860m/9,383ft). It is the earliest passage en route to Everest base camp, which takes you through the famous Sherpa villages, Phakding, and the gateway to Mt. Everest - Namche Bazaar. Everest trek further adds a visit to the Buddhist monastery of Tengboche, located at the highest elevation in the world.
