having a giant friend is probably terrible like imagine you're just peacefully sleeping but all of the sudden you hear thunderous footsteps shaking the ground and a booming voice sending shivers down your spine but then you realized it's your oomf whom you hate trying to wake you up by playing both reveille and the samsung homecoming ringtone on their phone in full blast while slamming two comically sized cymbals while walking around your sleeping self and all of the sudden that block button looks shiny

nighttime freight (a g/t scenario)

g and t are asleep, t woke up in the middle of the night, g's phone gets a notification and the t is now curious ; t sneaks up to the top of the bed, where the g left the phone, and tries to enter in the password by frantically stretching their arm to each letter on the ginormous keyboard little did the t know, g was awake and once the t made a mistake entering the password onto the phone, the t, absolutely petrified, finds the g just staring with impending doom to the anxious t's soul (personally, i think this swings best with an unknowing human / borrower first-time meetup)

I kinda like g/t as a metaphor for mental health issues because it can often leave you feeling small and helpless. Like you can't do shit for yourself and you're living in a world that wasn't designed for someone who's struggling. And it leaves you feeling isolated. And I like that it can be used in g/t stories where the tiny (taking place or depressive or anxiety disorders.) Feels hopeless and that there's no point in trying becauze no matter what they do they will always be small. And insignificant to everyone around them. And I feel like using this as a way to convey mental health struggles also can be hopeful in a way, because in alot of g/t stories the tiny meets a giant (in place of coping skills or aids) who helps them navigate the world and shows them they matter in the world, no matter how small they are. Or the tiny figures or now to traveres the world anyway.

The reverse can be true to with giants, feeling like they take up to much space or that they ruin everything by just EXISTING near it, and that it would be better if they just weren't there in the first place. And then meeting a tiny who shows them that they deserve to take up space and that they don't ruin things or make everything harder for everyone else just by living their life.

Why doesn't someone, like, as an example of why racism is bad make this book, movie, or tv show where you have either tiny humans or giant humans, now, make the main character a white, cis, straight, man, but make him either tiny or giant. Now, in this series "normal" sized people are all treated as equils, they all get along, police look at them and go "hey, that dudes alright.", but with the giant/tiny characters, the "normal" sized people are absolutely rude, completely unsympathetic, like you have a few people supporting them, fighting for their rights, ya know like in most societies, but like nobody trusts then or treats them like people because of their size, an example: a cop being like "hey, he's a giant and is obviously the person who abused this woman instead of the other way around because they're a giant" or "this tiny obviously stole the person's ring because they're tiny and live in the slums and would do that" or how about "we've seen they're violence in the past, they can't be trusted with our kids or with keeping us safe, so why are they here with us" and "I'm not being racist towards giants/tinies, but why are there so many people saying that they don't have the same rights as us? They do, it's right there! And police have every right to treat them the way they do, they're just so suspicious with how they look!" Okay, make a series like this. Then show it to all the white people of power in our society. Show them a world where this white cis man, who looks clean cut, nice, and would never do anything wrong and have him be treated like a threat, a monster, and a crook just because he looks different. Then ask them, what is racism? Fucking have then sit through hours of seeing racism in a close up personal way, have them watch as a white man is arrested for murder just because one little thing is different about him, then ask them about rascism

Fucking do it Hollywood, you pussy. Because using g/t as a metaphor for racism actually works, and I just feel like it would get the point across

This could also work for sexism, homophobia, and many other stereotypes that need an end put to them

There's been a lot of what could have been an intellectual discussion in the g/t community on Tumblr lately about the potential issues surrounding popular g/t tropes (namely ones with heavy dehumanization and especially ones in which the one being dehumanized accepts or embraces it)

The amount of smelly gamer rage in the replies is insane. There is NO need to get so angry about people pointing out that a fetish-adjacent trope is potentially damaging and has inherent connections to racism and the exploitation and dehumanization of minorities. If you like the trope, fine, whatever. But you absolutely need to accept that that is a trope riddled with historical and societal landmines, and if you are going to be writing or consuming that kind of content youd better do some extensive reading on the history of real world dehumanization and oppression. It's beyond ignorant to say that these stories/art has no connection to the real world when people everywhere are being exploited/oppressed RIGHT NOW.

(P.s. Getting blindly enraged that someone would dare call you racist makes you look like a huge racist. I'm going to block people who can't engage in this conversation respectfully. )

something rather funny...

those who aren't already aware ; may i propose ; phighting has some characters / skins who are implied or coded to be size related (lot of these are kind of a far reach, but who cares) canon ; for instance, yulaser (a skin for one of the main playable characters, hyperlaser) is based on an icelandic legend that tells the story of a giant house-sized yule cat that threatens to eat people if they haven't received new clothing during the christmas season

canon ; and then we got a literal demigod and their deity relatives (almost, if not, all the deities are canonically mini giants, too!) ban hammer isn't shown as either giant or tiny in game, but in one of the maps, there is a inanimate giant ban hammer statue right in the centre!

headcanon ; and for the tinies, too! there's no official art depicting them as tiny, but, just look at their designs and try to convince me that they're not taller than 5 inches (or hell, maybe even size shifters!)
