A lot of people have been complaining about the fact that Freddy Carter has blue eyes when Kaz's eyes are dark brown. I used to be that type of person as well until I rewatched a couple clips and realized that Freddy's blue eyes make Kaz look more creepy and terrifying than he ever was.

Fuck that post going around saying "you can have coffee in your story without justifying it :) you don't need to explain everything :)" I want, no, I DEMAND a fully researched ethnobotanical paper on every single food item in your work, if you don't explain to me where did potatoes come from in your fantasy setting or don't explain how the industry of coffee works over interstellar distances with full detail you are doing things wrong and I personally hate you and I hate your stupid story, fuck you

I love when ships have one or both of characters that have walls up due to trust issues and the other has the mentality of "it's okay. I will be here when you're ready for those walls to come down and when they do, I will not give you a reason to put them back up."

April '24 Wrap Up

Exile (Keeper of the Lost Cities #2) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Fantasy

Thoughts: I liked exploring Fitz's reaction to something that happened in the book, and that one of the characters got an expanded role, although this did reduce another character's.

Good Girl, Bad Blood (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder #2) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Mystery

Thoughts: I really enjoyed this sequel and I procrastinated a lot of homework to read it. I was able to figure out a part of this mystery was before Pip did (that never happens), and Pip needs therapy after that ending. I also hate Max so much.

Everblaze (Keeper of the Lost Cities #3) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Fantasy

Thoughts: There's a lot of emotionally tough scenes in this that were heartbreaking to read.

As Good as Dead (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder #3) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Mystery

Thoughts: Pip's character arc in this story was fascinating. This book did give me a nightmare, which wasn't great, and I accidentally spoiled myself for who the killer was. Max can go die. Ravi is a saint.

The Adventures of a Girl Called Bicycle ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Magical Realism

Thoughts: This was a very cute and wholesome children's book that one of my friends recommended to me.

Neverseen (Keeper of the Lost Cities #4) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Genre: Fantasy

Thoughts: This book dragged in some places but the ending killed me emotionally.

Lodestar (Keeper of the Lost Cities #5) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Alex Stern is many things, but she is also a girl who loved and took care of a small furry creature. She grieved his death. She never belonged in that dump with Len and Ariel. No matter what her poor self-esteem says. She puts Hellie on a pedestal but doesn't see how much she is worth herself. It may be a small thing, that white rabbit, but I think it is crucial to understanding Alex. Despite the things she's done and the things done to her, a very powerful part of her core personality survived. I don't know how to call it. Innocence? Kindness? Goodness? She values life. She understands how precious it is. Her head is in the right place. Her heart is in the right place.
