i remember adults telling me, as a kid, to listen to doctors and get my flu vaccine and any shots i could because they remembered Before.

then they started fighting Covid precautions.

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that the ozone was disappearing and the earth was dying and we needed to recycle and save the planet.

now my parents think climate change is a myth.

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that racism was a plague, that we had to love and accept everyone, that we should never judge before walking a mile in their shoes.

then they told me that protesting for my Black siblings was wrong.

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that we needed to give to the poor. working at soup kitchens. making quilts. collecting food and money and supplies. building houses. because it was the christian and just plain right thing to do.

now they look at me, on food stamps with their grandchildren, and lament the "welfare state".

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and that any rich man, especially an immoral one, should never run our country.

you can guess who they voted for.

My roommate needs a long overdue cancer screening and basic reproductive care. He is intersex and having major health issues that make the cancer screening in particular very urgent. He has an appointment set for the 5th. I had to go to a similar appointment a few months ago, and it ended up costing about $500 total. I am begging his adopted parents to help, but I'm also making a post to fund it because they openly don't care about him. This post is made with his permission and knowledge.

So many TV shows/movies depict the Epi Pen as a total solution for anaphylaxis...it's not. The Epi Pen gives you 30 minutes to get to a hospital where they can save your life. TV makes it look like you just have to use the Epi Pen and then the crisis is over. Do people without allergies or a loved one with allergies know that an Epi Pen only buys you time? The more I see this on TV the more I worry...

Ok someone help me Im craving rereading a fanfic seen on here or on ao3 to all my Danny Phantom x DC/Batfamily poster out there can anyone direct me to a fic were Danny, Ellie and I think vald/Dan are rescued from the government by the justice league Batman adopted Danny and Ellie and when Lucian fox comes to see Bruce we find out he's Tucker older who's been looking for them with jazz and sam for all the years they been locked up.

Well this is two different posts perfectly matching up together on my feed. Reading that prompt then seeing that nice animation got me seeing the image in my mind so clear.

Young Dick Grayson is wandering in the JL headquarters in the artifacts room. He’s been just looking around, occasionally reading placards that Zatanna or Dr. Fate have added on the items used and its history.

He pauses when he comes across an old green rotary phone. Next to the phone is a small placard. It reads “never pick this up.”

He knows he shouldn’t touch it. He’s in a room full of magical artifacts. There’s no way this won’t come back to bite him. But his curiosity overwhelms him.

He picks up the phone and dials a random number.

It rings.

And rings.

And rings.

And- “Hello! Fenton speaking! Who am I speaking to?”

Someone answered. —

Danny doesn’t know why this unknown number rang the house phone but ngl, he’s a bit curious. (Nomatter what number you choose, it always goes to the Fentons landline
