i was walking tank yesterday and it was. 12°c, so everything was melting and therefore really damn muddy. i needed to wash his paws in the sink when we got home and in the middle of it i ended up just stopping for a sec. i want so badly to need to wash charlie's paws because poodles and poodle mixes prance and kick up mud onto their bellies if they're short and he would always sit so patiently for his turn when we'd go to the kitchen sink after walks.

i miss my fucking dog. i didn't say anything when it happened, but he was put down exactly 2 months after he turned 12 for unavoidable reasons. i miss my dog, i wear a vial of his fur around my neck, i have his dog tag on my chain, i want to struggle to brush his ears, i want to chase him around during his post-walk zoomies, i want to drag him away when he tries to eat something he found on the road, i want to hear him microbark in his sleep, i want to feel the texture of his little curls on his head, i want to tell him not to steal tank's food, i want to laugh about him picking up his bone and walking away when tank tries to grab it, i want to hear him howl when mum leaves the house, but he is now confined to memories in my chain, 3 little vials, photos, and his new home on my mother's nightstand.
