Headcanon that Nolan has had stalkers since Elementary School, like it starts with someone harmless, a weird girl on the playground, middle school is odd but harmless, just an overprotective parent. High school was worrying, the girl may have only liked him cause he was respectful but she stalked him everywhere she could, College was weird but not life threatening, he help her escape a bad relationship but unfortunately that girl was raised in a household that treated stalking and obsession like a joke, so she stalked Nolan everywhere, his classes, his dorm, she even tried following him to the bathroom once, she's the only stalker he had to get a restraining order for. And all those stalker eventually lead to Oscar his newest and most annoying yet most threatening stalker yet.
