it came to my realization that 99% of my fandom related headaches would be cured if everyone understood this
#it is not typical for me to reblog a post As i see it on my dash but i saw this one and had Thoughts#that i could very well lose if i did not reblog the post whilst i was having said thoughts#anyway. the thing that no one tells you is that level 3 headcanons are actually the abyss.#level 1 and 2 are highly respectable places and thats usually where the canon analysis funtime happens which i love#but level 3 is actually the no man's land. thats where the fanon cliche homogenization happens.#which perhaps is a little unfair bc its not Universal. theres lots of Primarily Lv3 interps of things that can be very fun#but its where the ''i can do canon better! (overly softens everything)'' interps live. and so perhaps i have a grudge#now. level 4 headcanons. level 4.#thats where the party happens.#and the more they own up to ''yea im just saying any shit i want'' often the more fun is being had#again - not universal. lv4 is often also where you get really really weird unpleasant stuff#but its also where the absolute batshit crazy takes party so like. tbh. i respect it more than the fanon ouroboros#im uuuultimately a lv1-2 guy who occasionally dips into later levels only when im in really deep in the sauce#but . yeagh. a lot of thoughts on this matter.

gyaaauuuuuuh. an interactive blog ive kept up with since the start is having some cazy shit happen. and its like awakened my old desire for an interactive thing involving zero beat. but every time i think abt it i bump up against the problem of not being sure the best way to enact it how i want.
(like. okay. the true answer is that what i want is a forum game but i got no forum to do this on so i have to try soemthing else. obviously there is also the problem of idk how many people would be interested in the first place but like if i cant even figure out How to run the damn thing then i'll NEVER know.)
THE PROBLEM: i want to run one of those interactive adventure type things with players telling teh characters what to do. i think those are at their best when the players can discuss among themselves the best/worst things to do (I LOVE TO READ GAMEPLAY DEBATES BTW). but a traditional tumblr askbox is... the opposite of that, since until they're published nobody sees it but the blogrunner, and people tend to be averse to conversing in the notes.
