Here is a link to the first video in the playlist for the Complete GNS3 Labs for CCNA 200-301 Exam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-P1aNT63XQ&list=PLhHT1w6sU7CNz2hDXrzKjGvufwMqx5a4j This video is about the link layer discovery protocol (LLDP). In this video we are going to go over the LLDP cisco configuration commands. The command to enable lldp is lldp enable. Let's also compare lldp vs CDP. LLDP is the open standard version and CDP is the Cisco proprietary version of the protocol. The lldp configuration and commands are very simple. LLDP is supported on all Cisco routers and switches in case you need to integrate with third party devices. LLDP over poe does work. The lldp run cisco command is what turns the protocol on. By the end of this video you will know all the cisco link layer discovery protocol commands. COMMANDS: lldp holdtime X lldp reinit X lldp timer X lldp run (global) lldp enable (interface) VERIFY: sh lldp nei sh lldp traffic sh lldp errors sh lldp entry by Network Savage

Cisco cdp clients use the cisco cdp enable command in order to enable the cisco cdp discovery tool. There are a few cisco discoveryprotocol commands. The cisco discovery protocol control protocol is used to discover directly connected neighboring devices. There are common errors like cisco discovery protocol is not available on this physical adapter. This is due to the difference between cdp vls lldp. CDP is the cisco proprietary solution while LLDP is the open standard version. CDP does work with some windows clients like Cisco Jabber. COMMANDS: cdp run (global) cdp enable (interface) VERIFY: sh cdp nei (shows all cdp neighbors) sh cdp entry (to look at a specific neighbor sh cdp interface (shows interfaces with CDP running) sh cdp traffic by Network Savage

The spanning tree protocol algorithm elects a spanning tree protocol root bridge. Spanning tree protocol has advantages and disadvantages. There are a couple commands you can use for spanning tree protocol troubleshooting. This spanning tree protocol video also references spanning tree protocol rfc. I'll show the cisco native commands and options for config. There are a few ways to do cisco trunk native vlan configuration. Big problems occur when there is a cisco native vlan mismatch. When this happens you will see cisco native vlan mismatch discovered or cisco native vlan mismatch detected on interface errors. There is also the concept of cisco native vlan tagging and there is no such thing as cisco native vlan on routers except if you are working with switching modules. What is a cisco native vlan? We'll go through what they are and what they are used for on trunks. I'll show you examples of the cisco trunk native vlan example on GNS3. There will be a cisco native vlan configuration example and we'll explain the cisco native vlan meaning. As well as how to see the cisco native vlan usage, what the native vlan is. I'll go through the native vlan command for cisco. The native vlan concept is thoroughly explained with an explanation. I'll also go through the cisco native vlan configuration example on gns3. This will involve what vlans are allowed on the cisco trunk vlan configuration and briefly distinguish the difference between cisco trunk vs access mode. Cisco trunk configuration commands are included. Cisco trunk stetup involves specifying the allowed vlans. I'll include cisco trunk port configuration samples and examples. There are cisco trunk port configuration best practices for cisco switch port trunk configuration. This involves vlan pruning on cisco trunks and we will discuss the cisco trunk encapsulation methods including dot1q. We will also look at the trunk port definition and do a trunk port configuration in a cisco switch. There are slight differences between cisco access ports vs trunk ports. The cisco switchport mode access command is the first step in configuring an access port. There are also questions about cisco multi vlan access port in configuration. I'll show you how to configure an access port on a cisco switch and describe what a cisco access port is. What happens if you connect a cisco access port to a trunk port. The configuration invloves specifying what vlans you want on the access port. We will explain what a cisco trunk port is for and what a cisco access port is for. Cisco trunk vs access mode comes down to what you need the port to do. A port can either be used for trunking or for access. Access ports are for attaching end devices like computers, phones, printers, etc. Trunk ports are for extending vlans to other devices. We will define what a trunk port is and how to configure cisco trunk ports. We will go through all the main differences between access ports vs trunk ports.
