I’d love to hear some Nezuko or Zenitsu Neurodivergent headcanons!

Congrats on being our first ask! My personal headcanon for Zenitsu is ADHD and for Nezuko, I hc her as Autistic/ADHD/Selectively Mute. I'll definitely go into more detail about these later, but for now, here are some little headcanons <3

Nezuko

-Nezuko has a special interest in animals! She's definitely the kind of kid who fed any and every stray cat she saw.

-Most people would expect her favorite animal to be something cute like rabbits, but instead she's obsessed with the most obscure animals. She will talk about Aardvarks, Zebra Giraffes, and some random deep sea fish for hours.

-We all have those tasks that our brains Do Not want to do. Nezuko really enjoys some household chores, but others are just AWFUL. She's more than happy to sweep or cook, but then she's asked to wash dishes and will procrastinate on it as long as possible.

Zenitsu

-In a more modern setting, Zenitsu would be wearing sound cancelling headphones 24/7

-He really likes oversized clothes with long sleeves that go over his hands. They're very fun to stim with!

-This dude NEVER sleeps. With his sensitive hearing, it's always hard to fall asleep with even the smallest sounds like a cricket outside or someone snoring in the other room.

-He probably wakes up Tanjiro every other night becuase he heard a scary noise and someone has to protect him!

Autistic Tanjiro Headcanon

Ayoo! Here's a character study of everyone's favorite protagonist I did while rewatching! It's just a few things I picked up on or personally vibed with as autism symptoms and I wanted to share :D

1. He tends to misinterpret or miss social cues

For example, when he first met Inosuke in Ep.14 and mistook his anger as his wounds hurting him and nearly all of the characters nearby had the collective thought of "He doesn't get it"

Or in Ep.26 when Kanao was making it clear that she wanted their conversation to be over, but Tanjiro didn't seem notice at all and instead took it as an invitation to sit down keep talking

Overall, he generally has a hard time realizing when people find him annoying

2. Imitation

3. Difficulty with lying

4. Attention to detail

Just little things like him avoiding the papers in the demon mansion or noticing that Kanao's eyes changed.

5. Hyper empathetic

Empathy is a pretty big part of his character. He's always shown sympathy for demons even when others view them as unforgivable.

6. Hypersensitive to smells

It's just canon

7. Hyper focus

He has a few scenes in Ep.24 where he's so deep in thought that he doesn't notice other characters talking to him until they're literally in his face or physically grab him to get his attention

8. Overstimulation

That whole city scene in Ep.7? Sensory overload. He didn't calm down until he physically distanced himself from the lights, noise, and crowd.

9. He actually stress stims alot!

He tends to ball his fist or grip his clothing when he's really angry or stressed.
