Every time he’s reminded that, disastrous end to their first date aside, this has been Evan from the start: eager and willing to put himself in this position, to arrange his body in ways the world always told Tommy would make him less of a man. “And so, what,” Evan asks, mouth pulling into a slow smile, “you think I can’t handle it?” Tommy smirks back, sliding a hand up between his shoulders to hold him by the scruff of the neck. “I think we’re testing the structural integrity of this chair.”

God what i wouldn't give to have the sheer stamina and work ethic of my next door neighbor. Every morning, 8am, the hammers and drills come out. he's putting up shelves. he's feeding cables through walls 6 inches from my pillow. He's putting together furniture. He's making smoothies. He's 74 years old. Does it piss me off? of course. But i have to admit that he is clearly also the superior being. ICE is in Los Angeles conducting raids and arresting families and children on their way to their court dates and raiding workplaces. Trump has called the National Guard in to stop protestors and is spreading a false narrative about violence, raiding, etc. to distract from the fact that ICE is abducting children in a SANCTUARY CITY.

Do not look away, do not be silent. If you or a loved one is detained by ICE, stay silent except to ask for your lawyer. Keep your documents on you. Call legal aid foundations who are standing by.

If you are NOT in LA and want to help, you can contact rapid response networks and ask how to help or donate. Donate to ACLU, the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund (MALDEF), or the Immigrant Defense Project.
