Newari Cuisine is a traditional and ethnic food from Newari culture in Nepal. Newari culture is one the oldest ethnic group of Nepal that has an amazing history for tradition, culture, festivals, foods, customs, dance, language, and more. Newars are the oldest inhabitants of the capital city Kathmandu. Newars are mostly found in Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Banepa, & Kritipur within the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal.

Traditionally, they sit on the hay handmade carpet where Newars sit on it and enjoy the food on Lapate (Leaf Plate) with homemade alcohol called Ala or Tho ( Homemade Rice Wine), various recipe is enjoyed with friends and family on various festivals and occasions. Newars are well-known for celebrating festivals. It is believed that Newars celebrate festivals half a year than any other ethnic groups in Nepal. During, the feast the senior familt member sits down and served the food first by the women in the family.
