I crocheted my lace wedding dress on the bus during my work commute for about 5 months. The dress is a pattern I designed with a commonly used pineapple stitch. Here’s a video of my process:  http://youtu.be/edFt9Ug5RmY. The dress was practically free because I didn’t spend much money on it (under $30 for all of the materials including fabric for the lining) and I didn’t spend much extra time on it. My commute time couldn’t be used for anything else anyway. The dress is also machine washable (I’ve washed it several times), doesn’t wrinkle or need any special care, and I plan on wearing it again with linings of different colors and with the train bustled up in different ways.
This is absolutely amazing! Reddit user alkikat crocheted her own wedding dress over 5 months during her 50-minute bus commute. I love that she not only crocheted something herself for her special day, but also plans to use it with different colored linings and by bustling the train different ways! So not only was it cheap to make, she’ll also get more use out of it than a typical wedding dress! Amazing!

Because mustaches.
Mustache
It’s Movember! Since I can’t grow a mustache, I decided to crochet one (or two…)!
Tumblr media
I used a 5.00mm hook and brown medium weight yarn (I used Loops and Threads Impeccable in Chocolate)
1) ch 15
Tumblr media
2) Starting in the second ch from the hook, sl st, sl st, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, 1tc, 1dc, sl st ch1, 1dc, 1tc, 1dc, 1hdc, 1sc, sl st, sl st.
Tumblr media
The sl st in the middle of the mustache makes the cinch, and the ch 1 builds the height for the next stitch.
Tumblr media
Fasten off and weave in the ends. These mustaches are so quick to make!
Tumblr media
I was going to leave them like this, but I thought putting them on a stick might be easier to play with! I used a piece of brown yarn and one chopstick.
Tumblr media
On the side of the mustache (I did the left side because I’m left handed), thread the yarn through the hdc. Place the chopstick between the 2 ends of the yarn, and tie a bow. I did mine very tightly so the chopstick wouldn’t fall out!
Tumblr media
Since the bow was very big and visible, I pulled the ends of the bow to make it smaller, then I cut the ends.
Tumblr media
Have fun with your crocheted mustache! I think these would be cute in a photo booth!

Happy crocheting!

‘Cause a Halloween party’s a rad excuse To put your body through mad abuse And I might pass out but it’s alright 'Cause I’m Halloween partyin’ hard tonight
JK guys lmao, but if you got that reference I ❤ you!
I did go to a Halloween party last night but I mostly sat in the corner and crocheted while people around me got drunk 😂
I went as the Gay Babadook, one of my favorite memes. This Halloween I knew I wanted to be a meme and this one seemed super extra so that’s what I went with! And yes, I did crochet the top!
Hope everyone else is having a good Halloweekend!
