This time around I get to say no to things.

Not because of dire circumstances. Not because I'd otherwise be excited. Not because I don't trust myself or haven't given myself permission.

I am saying no for my future self. To not be locked away in a state I didn't choose. Whether that be mentally or literally.

I get to step into my future with my set of ideals, experiences and wants.

I dislike when people want to say something but don't. I can tell they have a thought but they won't say it.

I'm getting closer to the next chapter- I'm elated. I know my younger self would be excited. That sounds like he's far away though. He's never been.

Accumulated memories trickle down like quiet rain at two A.M.

Shared experiences wither away while new ones uproot. It all seems like quite too much- a couple of deep breaths and it's okay.

I'm still searching for answers for questions I wouldn't have asked otherwise. The visage slowly melting away like the last of the snow in winter's end.

I forever remain curious, open minded. There is more life to live and experiences to be had. I want to feel fingers intertwine and to crush evil. Let me be proved wrong.

I won't deny myself what is rightfully mine- a human experience.
