Extra credit opportunity
1. Research any of our state house or senate bills.
To do this, you can Google “house bill wv” or “senate bill wv”, or go to: http://www.wvpublic.org/term/2019-legislature
Local periodicals/news outlets will be your best bet. (The bills’ names will look something like HB 2588 or SB 144.)
2. Write at least 3/4 of a page about the bill. Include its status, the pros and cons, and the general consensus surrounding the bill, from the public and the state government’s perspectives.
Turn this in at the beginning of class on or before Tuesday, 3/19.
This is worth up to 15 points. 10 points will be awarded if you completed the assignment. 11+ points will be awarded if your response is particularly nuanced and thorough. This will be applied toward your homework. Any points left over will go to your quiz grade, and/or your midterm grade (in that order).
