The sale of Flintshire to ENI!
The purchases began in early February 2017; 65 land purchases were made in February, 13 in April, 5 in May and 1 in October.
There is no indication from the data to suggest why ENI UK Limited purchased the land.
According to ENIs website: ‘Eni’s activities in the UK are currently carried out in all three areas of interest: exploration and production, gas and power and refining and marketing’.

So I wonder why they have purchased all this land? Growing potatoes maybe.
The land purchases made in Flintshire include a range of coastal land, farm land and potentially brown field land as well.
The land purchases have occurred in, around and/or between, in excess of 20 village locations: Axton, Babell, Brynford, Caewys, Calcoed, Connahs Quay, Cornist, Ffynnongroew, Flint, Flint Mountain, Gronant, Gwespyr, Holywell, Lixwm, Llanasa, Lloc, Oakenholt, Pentre Halkyn, Sarn, The Nant, Trelogan and Whitford. There has also been land purchase next to the A55.
The top 5 in terms of titles purchased are: Talacre with 18, Flint with 16, Babell with 9, Brynford 5 and Pentre Halkyn 5.
As previously, mentioned, the data does not shed any light on the purpose of the purchase, therefore we won’t speculate here.

So, here you have it; we have a company in ENI who openly lists their activities in the UK on their website as falling into three areas of interest: ‘exploration and production, gas and power and refining and marketing’. I’m going to allow the readers to consider the findings we have presented and make up their own minds.
If anyone does get any response from ENI on what they are up to, it would be great to hear from you. I have tried contacting them, but unfortunately they have not come back to me as yet.
