i think tumblr’s idea of boys is utterly misguided at times. 

boys are just as deserving of love as girls are. a woman fighting to break down a man’s walls is not “a waste of time”, a woman being concerned of a man’s mental health/feelings is not wrong. i think tumblr constantly spreads the idea that men are not worth women’s time and that their emotions are somehow less valid than women’s, and it’s just not true. at least not in all cases. 

good young men who are struggling with mental illness need to know that they deserve happiness and that their feelings matter. if we constantly dismiss men’s emotions and act like they’re not worth our time, we’re just encouraging ideas of toxic masculinity.

I understand this so much. Teresa made in general a decision she thought was right. She betrayed Thomas so that proves that she would rather do what’s right then stay with Thomas. She thinks he’s in the wrong so she tells him that. Her life doesn’t evolve around Thomas.

(I still don’t like her but that doesn’t really matter. There is something about her that just makes me mad, idk why?)

I get what people are saying but I honestly just don’t like Teresa as a person. But neither of them were fully in the right or in the wrong. I respect what Teresa did I just don’t like her.

honestly i’m sick and tired of hearing people say “but she betrayed thomas!” about teresa, like, it’s not all about thomas, okay? she did what she thought was right for everybody. and honestly it pisses me off that her last words in the book were “i only ever cared for you” or whatever because she was more than that. she was more than thomas. fuck.
