A few common feelings you may experience when open water swimming. 🔸Anxiety, nervousness, that feeling like you can't breathe. 🔸Fear, there's a lot of unknowns going on, you don't have walls, you might not be able to see what's under you, around you, and in a race, there are people who are VERY unpredictable. You might get kicked in the face, who knows. 🔸Water temperature, when it's really cold, breathing becomes even harder, your body will also try to preserve energy. Many people ask me what’s the main function of a swim buoy, the answer is, they have a few! 👉Swim buoys make you more visible to boats and other crafts while you’re in the water. 👉Swim buoys are a floatation device and can be used when you want a little rest. I sometimes put mine under my head and float on my back. On a nice morning it’s perfection! 👉Some swim buoys also have a storage compartment to place your valuables while you go for a dip. I bring my car keys and my phone. I also put my phone in a water proof phone case for extra protection. I’ve been using @newwaveswimbuoy products since I started OWS and they have been awesome!
