Reasons for closing off borders (magical kingdom)
the kingdom doesn't want foreigners to come into their territories
the kingdom doesn't want their own people to leave their territories
the kingdom fears an attack
the kingdom wants to have a better control over trade
the kingdom doesn't agree with outside influences and wants to shield themselves from them
the kingdom wants to have control over everything
