Facing the Nightmares of Phantomile! by Mast3r-Rainb0w
Even after nearly 30 years since its debut in 1997, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile still holds up as a fantastic game to this day. If you're a fan of platform games with 2.5D graphics and a compelling story to boot, you should DEFINITELY not miss out on this masterpiece before you die! Here's some fanart of the Dream Traveler taking on some of Phantomile's worst nightmares! Enjoy!

BEAUTIFUL
'As if they stepped out of the celestial realm and walked right over you. They wore the faces of the sun and moon and something in between. They weren’t supposed to be here, not on your plane of existence. Those three were like gods. They walked like it too, heads held high and eyes always up.
They were better than you, up on that screen.
You couldn’t look away. Entranced by their beauty and color and the way they moved. With an ethereal grace as though their limbs were made of air and water instead of refined metal alloy. In your chest you felt your heart stutter a pace.'

Something Something Yada Yada, Villain Eclipse.
You get to be the henchman.
Short one-shot thing I made for this under cut.
~2,800 words.
Tron city is a peaceful place. Tall modern buildings, fresh flowers lining the sidewalks, and a friendly face on every corner only begin to describe why such a place is perfect for anyone.
"My, my... you should know how much I love parties."
But you don't live there.
"Always been a fan of a lovely bash."
In fact, you (your boss) are about to crumble it's very foundation.
A bear, tall and true- stares at the perpetrator, his light blue eyes holding a mix of emotions. But the ones you can point out the most are resentment...
And sadness.
"It does not have to be this way, Eclipse." He tells the tall figure in front of you, eyes never moving. Never seeing you behind him. You were invisible to the conversation.
The said figure bristles at that, sharp rays ticking like the time bomb he was. Silence envelopes the three of you, before it is shattered by his laugher. Cold and cackling. The very sound of it makes you shiver.
"Oh, but it always had been." He seethes back, laugher long gone- replaced by the chilling tone you've been accustomed to these last few weeks.
The bear's eyes slide to you then, and you freeze as his piercing gaze hold you down. He could blast you into smithereens if he wanted to right now.
"I see you hired a new sidekick. Tell me, will they have to suffer the same fate as the last?" The bear asks him. It was a jab, you knew- and though you weren't privy to see your boss's face, you could feel the anger radiating off him in waves. You clutch the button he'd given you tighter in your hands. Things were about to get really ugly.
"And at whose hands did they suffer by?" The sound of gears grinding together makes you glance his way. You wince at the sight of his clawed fist, the metal denting from the sheer force of it's owner.
"Was it yours, or mine?" Your boss finishes, releasing the fist to flourish his hand in the bear's direction.
Blue eyes fill with an anger of it's own this time, and you feel the waves of his power as he begins to hover in place. You glance worryingly in your boss' direction. You... wouldn't be caught in the cross fire, right?
"You know that was not my intent, Eclipse." The bear grits out, the image of hurt flashing across is features for no more than a second, before it is replaced by anger once more.
Your boss walks forward, the bottom of his shoes clicking with each step he took towards the bear. You quickly try to follow, not having nearly as much flare as he did.
The streets are empty. Someone must've evacuated them beforehand. A single red flower catches your eye. Ah, how pretty.
"Ah, and yet- it happened."
A boom shakes your entire body. The sound mixed with an electric pulse. Each thump almost makes you lose your footing. The bear has shot towards your boss, body flying with a speed inhuman. They lock hands, before your boss throws the bear into the glass of a building nearby. Sharp shards burst and fall onto the ground below. Sweat beads and drips down your neck as you stand helplessly in the mist of it all. Far too close.
But you could not run. You still had the button that he'd given you.
And you had to stay, for her.
Your heart beats rapidly in your chest, and your mind blurs as it tries to keep up with the ongoing fight. Gravel is smashed as this time- your boss is thrown into it. Air refuses to leave your lungs at this sight. If he lost, then you would surely be sent to prison- no one would be able to take care of her in your leave. Oh, you were so stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid-
A clawed hand reaches out from the dust and debris of their fight, and you can't help the relief that floods you as you spot the dark crimson metal. Within a second, your boss is back on the bear, but you don't miss frayed ends of a wire poking out from his faceplate. He was getting hurt.
They both were.
You can visibly see the deep claw marks on the bear's chest, combined with the dents on his arms. You did not know his name- truthfully, only learning about such machinery really existing fairly recently. Where you came from, super powered bots like him only existed in the comics you'd scrap up from the throw away bins for her. It was the only thing that would really bring light to her eyes.
And now, you were helping the opposite team fight him.
A loud clang of metal on metal snaps your attention back to the fight. It seems the bear had just thrown off your boss, holding even more wounds than before. He holds his shoulder, glaring deeply at your boss.
And then he looks at you.
A brief look of guilt- followed by resolution.
Time slows down, and you watch as his working arm raises, palm open and facing your way. Blue sparks flicker in the center of it, before it lights up full force. Your heart plummets. Even if you ran, you would not escape the blast. You were going to di-
Something grabs you, the grip firm, as you're swung around behind the figure. You look up to see the whites of the eyes of your savior. Your boss.
"Ah, almost lost you there." He tells you softly, letting a hint of emotion flow through his words as he grinned from above. "We'll have to go through safety training when this is all over."
You blink. You look behind him. There's a force field. Oh, okay. You're alive. Awesome. Your legs almost give out from underneath you.
He then turns around to face the bear, and you only catch a glimpse of his expression before he does. He was grinning like a madman- but he was furious.
"I thought you were past foul play, but I guess not."
The bear does not answer, but blasts at the force field once more. Through the bright light, something catches your eye. A green blur. Slinking behind a building high above the three of you. You quickly put two and two together.
With the button moved to one hand, you hesitantly tap your boss's arm. His head snaps to face you, eye quirked in a manner of question. You pause, how were you going to explain this to him?
You raise your free hand, slowly moving your fingers to make them crawl upward. Seeing this, his frown only deepens. Another blast hits the force field, making you flitch. You look at him again, determined. You point at the tower you saw the green... whatever it was slink behind.
Your boss follows your finger's direction, and for a moment- he's still very confused... But then he sees it. And it clicks. He grins, manic expression back in place. You sigh in relief, just happy he somehow understood you.
You were mute. Unable to utter even syllable since you were young. You can't remember how it happened, but since then- you couldn't talk for the life of you. And you had tried. And tried. And tried.
It made getting a job, especially in your position, very hard. As if it wasn't enough already.
With a flick of his hand, your boss sends a mechanical disk flying. In the air, you can spot the spikes that pop out from around it, spinning rapidly as it charges towards it's target.
And it doesn't miss.
High up on the building, glass shatters from the impact, the wall of it imploding. You hear a far off growl, before you suddenly see the green blur up close. Too close.
A gator, your mind supplies within the second that you see it, jumps from the building. But then disappears. You can't stop the fear that overcomes you when he suddenly appears again, right in front of another force field that your boss put up beforehand. The gator strikes it dead on, and it shakes from the impact. Your boss tisks. "As hot headed as ever, Monty."
As you take a mental note of the name, Monty growls vehemently. Red shades lower just enough for you to see the absolute rage in his eyes. He strikes it again. Another blast bursts on the other side of you from the bear. Your mind whirled at all the possibilities of your demise. You felt trapped.
In the mist of your troubling thoughts, you look up at your boss for any sign of a plan you really hoped he had. But to your dismal, he only carries that same crazed grin.
... was that a good thing???? Panic was very well set into your entire system. The onslaught of loud noises did not help. Truthfully, you were suprised you didn't have a panic attack yet. Must be the adrenaline.
You feel a clawed hand gently tap your shoulder, making you whip around in his direction. Your boss is close to your ear, putting him at an odd angle as he leans over to your height. His voiced comes out hushed, making sure only you can hear him. "You've done very well so far... when I give you the signal, click the button."
You eagerly nod. The sooner you clicked it, the sooner this all would be over with. You hoped. You really, really hoped.
Pleased with your answer, he steps away... and keeps stepping. To your shock and horror, he keeps going until he is out of the safety of the force field.
Monty is on him far to quick for your human eyes to keep up with. And just like with the bear, they begin to fight.
They blows they share are much more volatile when compared to the first fight. You guess it was because of how head on Monty was. Each strike seemingly more powerful than the last. You also had a feeling that Monty could not fly like the bear could, watching as he got tossed- only to latch onto a building and jump down.
The sound of another blast to the force field makes you look in the bears direction. He was still aiming towards you. Why?? It didn't make any sense.
The sound also catches your boss's attention, making him glance your way.
A second. A second was all it took for Monty jab him right in the face. A second, and the loud sound of metal colliding with metal filled the already noisy atmosphere. You watch in horror as your boss grabs the right side of his face. And your eyes slide to the gator, who wore a look triumph.
"Never take your eyes off of your opponent- isn't that what you taught me?" His voice comes out incredulous. Hauty.
"Yes, well-" Your boss slowly eases his hand away, revealing a flurry of sparks. "I also had taught you something else- ah, but it seems you might need a touch up on the lesson."
Much to your suprise, Monty takes the worded bate, frowning as he processed the words he was told. "What?" He asks.
Your boss grins. "In every fight, you must always remember to see the bigger picture."
And then he looks at you.
You click the button.
A boom- much louder than anything you've ever heard, shakes the very ground beneath you. And then you see it. In the distance, a large building crumbling. Dread drips and pools in your stomach with an icy cold chill.
What have you done?
"What have you done!?" The bear yells. But he's not looking at your boss. He's looking at you.
"I've hidden seven more in the city, all timed to set off one after the other." You boss nonchalantly comments. "Ah, and you might want to hurry. You're little sidekick is tied up to the second one."
The first look of fear you've seen throughout the whole fight flashes across the bear's eyes. He then, whips is head towards Monty. "Call the others. Tell them to search the city."
Confusion takes over Monty's face. "But what about-"
"Forget them." The bear spits. "We'll deal with them later."
"Do try.. you know how much I hate boredom." Your boss comments, walking back over to you with out a care in the world.
The bear looks like he's about to say something, but bites it back. He then hovers higher, quickly flying off. You look towards Monty, who was staring the two of you down.
"Hurry off now," your boss waves (which was more like a flick) him off.
You hear the gator growl at the two of you one more time, before going on all fours, sprinting in a different direction than the bear.
Your boss taps your shoulder, and you don't realize- but your hands are shaking, clutching the button for dear life. "That's useless now, you can drop it." He tells you.
And with much concentration, you finally do, your fingers stiff as you move them.
The button drops on the ground with a clang. And you boss steps on it, crushing it beneath his foot. "Now," he puts his hand on your back, his touch without any of the violence that he had for the other two, and pushes you forward. Before you know it, you're walking with him.
The familer sight of the ship you've become accustomed to seeing flies down near the two of you, doors opening for you to get in. You walk up it's steps with him, hearing the sound of it sealing close as you both board.
And for a while you keep walking... but then your pace slows, making him look at you.
You stare at him, the words you so dearly want- need to ask unable to come out. You needed to know the consequences of what you had just done. Even if you could never forgive yourself afterwards.
Your boss leans closer to your level. Staring at you for a moment longer before speaking. "The only thing that button you pressed will destroy, are a few buildings." He stands back to his normal height, eyes forward. "I assure you that."
You push yourself to walk in front of him, taking in a shaky breath. You jut out your hand, holding it in the air. Waiting.
He pauses- before slowly, tentatively, placing his hand in yours. You shakily scrawl out the word 'sidekick'.
Your boss rolls his eyes. "That tower doesn't have a bomb. And even if it did, Freddy would've saved him before it went off."
You're unsure if you can trust his words, but you have no choice but to. You let go of his hand, nodding.
Your boss stiffly nods as well for some reason. "Good. Now that that's settled- you can rest. I'll be in the repair room if you need me."
Your eyes snap to his once more. How could you forget!? He had gotten hurt too!
The right side of his face had a huge crack going down it, and the eye on that said was completely shot- that's where the sparks were coming from. He also had a few dents, though it was no where near as much as the bear had. You couldn't see what shape Monty had been in, him moving way to fast for you to keep up with.
As if he can read your mind, your boss speaks up once more. "I've handled worse, I assure you." He pauses. "You should go to your room, you have things you have to attend to, yes?"
You freeze, before nodding hesitantly. Did he know about her- oh, of course he did. There was no way someone like him couldn't.
With that, he waves you off- and you quickly run through the ship, traveling to your room.
Once you reach the door, it quietly slides open, sensing you. You slowly tiptoe in, walking over to your bed.
And there she was, all tucked in. Her red poofy hair was a mess- you'd have to comb it later. She had drool sliding out of her mouth as she slept.
But she was safe. And that's all that mattered.
You lean over, gently patting her forehead. Her brows pull together, and she pulls her hand out of the covers to rub her face. She falls back to sleep with ease.
"Goodnight, Mable." You whisper to the little girl. A sister related not by blood, but by the past to both shared with each other.
You told her you'd both get out of the orphanage, and you did.
And now, all you had to do was keep your job a secret. Your very dangerous, and risky job. You sigh.
You needed a shower.

What’s truly crazy about Bella’s little “Third Wife” reenactment to distract Riley and Victoria, is she doesn’t know that Edward won’t also be affected by her blood
I’m pretty sure that at this point, the last time she bled in his presence was her 18th birthday, and she badgered him to leave the room while Carlisle stitched her up because he was obviously uncomfortable
Like yeah it’s Edward, he loves her, “mind over matter”, etc… but she’s still his blood singer, it’s fresh blood, and he’s in the middle of a fight to the death. Not a great time to have his concentration split to control himself
What if it distracted him enough that he got hurt? Or it gave Victoria a chance to get past him to her? What if he snapped and attacked her himself?

I am so hype for the I Don't Want To Be A Magical Girl animatic pilot @kianamaiart is in the process of making right now. Something just clicked in my brain where I had to make an elaborate piece of fanart with these amazing character designs the second I saw them, so I took the opportunity to sit down and finally learn Clip Studio Paint properly. Logo was made by kianamaiart and julietran.jpg on instagram. I just cropped out the solid background color for this fan poster to give it some extra flair. Kiana, you're a phenomenal artist and person and I can't wait to see what you've got in store with this project. I hope you like this as much as I enjoyed making it. :)
