Its nice that the fandom has stopped erasing his disability as much (though they are some people that still do). But also theres a subset of the fandom that has started doing it in another way, by drawing him with prosthetics instead of his canon disabilities.

This is erasure, his disability is not one thats treated with prosthetics, its treated with surgery. Using prosthetics to put him at a "normal" level of function is erasure.

Viktor is a complicated character to write, yes. You may feel constrained by not being able to write him in some aus or draw him doing some activities an abled person does, but thats part of his character. If you feel antsy by not being able to make him ro this things, imagine how disabled people feel. When we finally get a charcater thats multiply disabled like us, with mid to low levels of ability, we see this being constantly erased by the fandom just to treat him like an abled character without even acknowledging his disability

Even if you are going to make him have prosthetics, for whatever reason, the way a lot of people do so is still harmful. Prosthetics are not a cure, nor do they make you suddenly abled. And think to yourself if hes worth writing if you want him to be

There are ways to write him into those aus, make him disability devices aimed at his disability, not just slapping something on top that had nothing to do. Make him special braces or corsets, make him artificial tanks of oxygen to help with his disease or blood filters. Dont just write edward elric and call it a day (which you arent do it, because he does have problems with his prosthetics)

If you have questions I am willing to answer them. I have a disability similar to his and my work centers the proper representation of minority groups, I am willing to be a sensibility consultant.

Tl, dr:please stop erasing Viktors disability by just giving him prosthetics, thats not better than just taking it away from him

-genuinely thinks the rest of the fellowship is really stupid so he points out the obvious. he just has to make sure everyones on the same page ok

-as a kid he had the biggest fucking puppy dog eyes (still does, doesnt admit it) and would use it to his advantage. no one could resist. he also started crying every time he didnt get something and stopped the second he got it. manipulative baby

-super good hearing, super good sight. fucking HORRIBLE sense of smell

-started using dwarven terms the more he hung around gimli. shit like “aye” n such

-kinda oblivious

-he cannot stand his hair getting knotted because, even if he’s an elf (ahh perfect being) it inevitably does ; has an extremely intricate haircare routine.

-his ears wiggle. Perk up when alarmed plop when he’s upset. His pupils dilate and shrink along, though they remain circular. his pout is reminiscent of a kicked puppy im ngl

- he is generally extremely neutral expression wise, but he cannot contain his disgust/embarassment. Because whenever he feels in such a way his nose will scrunch up and he’ll emit some sort of yelp without opening his mouth. Kinda like a bird.

-hair frizzes up along with his emotions. Horrible he does not enjoy it

- moves theatrically. Speaks with his hands, though it’s not rude or comical; it remains elegant and poised. He has his moments though
