Dress it up or dress it down, either way you can’t go wrong in a cape/kimono.

Kimono's
When I was in school I did a report on trends for the near future. We had to pick a country, research what fashion trend was popping for them, and interpret whether or not it could or would transfer over to American fashion. The country I picked, from the list that was given, was Africa. Now I know what your thinking, that’s very broad, but I made it work. Has I did my research I found my project hard to do because anything that I found was about Africa was about politics. Luckily, I came across this online fashion news report related to my subject, and found out that kimono’s were on the rise in fashion for Africa. In a trend report by, Rachel Madison, who said, “Kimono is a fashion item normally associated with Japan. But this traditional garment has long been borrowed by the western trends. Even during the jazz era, flappers began to wear elegantly beaded kimonos over evening dresses. Today, the trend has returned. Nigerian ladies are also fond of the kimono trend.” (news2.onlinenigeria.com./Rachel Madison/28-11-2017) She predicted this at the end of 2017 and I now, during the summer of 2018 I’m seeing women take part in the “Kimono Revolution.” Easy to pair with anything, I feel this is the must have lightweight cape/cover up. Of course, right after I did my report I was on the look out for one for myself. Luckily, for me my job sold them and they were on sell. I later was asked by my co workers why was I so excited about my sale purchase, I replied by saying, “It will be trending soon and I want to get mines early.” They didn't believe me, until we got are spring summer collection for the store and it was full of kimono’s. It has taken six months but its out there and I suggest you hope on the band wagon too.

Denim!!!
Hey Good Morning Guys!
I want to talk to you all today about a really important article of clothing that every person should have in their closet, it’s denim. I love denim. It’s my go to staple when it comes to fashion. Denim is so easy to dress up or down. It works on so many levels and it’s sturdy which makes it the best material in the world. It can be distressed and still  made to look good. And for the most part the jeans make your ass look amazing. Its my top pick for first date outfit choices, simple because first dates are never formal. Denim jackets can go on top of any outfit. It’s also dope to mix and match denim ( dark denim wash jeans with a black denim jacket is always a fashion statement). Denim is one article of clothing that will never go out of style, no matter what the trends are leading up to or what color is in season, denim will be always be number one.

Denim on denim is my favorite go to style of dressing when I want to dress up and be casual at the same time. And yes I know I should clean my mirror, but it adds character

Color of the Year: Ultra VIOLET
So, every year Pantone announces its color of the year. Now, granted it is June, but I haven’ seen much of the color since it was announced. The color, if you haven’t guess by the title is Ultra Violet. Now, purple is one of my favorite colors, next to blue, so, this really wasn’t a stretch for me, but it’s a major leap from the color that’s really making a statement this year, which is red. Like I said, Violet is in, but I haven’t seen much of it this season.
I’m a fashion fanatic that takes her cues from men’s wear and I would be extremely excited to see this color pop up more in men’s wear, whether it’s casual or sports. Violet/Purple to me has always been a fun color especially in the pastel form, so I'm anxious to see what brands will do with the color of the year. Maybe it’s one of those things were we talk about it now and it shows up later. I wouldn’t be surprised, but it’s fashion so I hope that I am.
