The recurring theme of the season for Lucas is his abandonment issues. He was abandoned in season one by his father, and he could no longer live with his mother in season two. This season, Mika snapped at him, Yann left him alone (temporarily but still) after he came out, he had his fight with his whole boy squad.

And although he does have Le Coloc and his friends all back in place, I think it’s been a long time since he’s had someone by his side who loves him as deeply and unconditionally as his parents and Eliott - so of course even a temporary separation is going to feel wrenching to him. He’s sixteen and any kind of secure affection has been lost to him for a long, long time. He’s only had it again for a week (and it’s been an exhausting, bumpy week at that). It is going to take him some time for that deep scar of fear and loneliness to heal over, to stop feeling like as soon as anything good comes to him, it’s taken away again.
