not sure how but they finally managed to translate a vidya into cinema without it coming out as trash with the fallout series tbh its pretty good, respects and even directly addresses the canon lore tbh

usually with vidya to cinema the lore is just stepped on and played with fast and loose... silent hill comes to mind and imo i hate it but still felt it was the best translation of a vidya to cinema ... so not like the bar is high, or im just obsessed with anything silent hill... maybe both but imo the other SH movies were trash..

anyway... they did fallout right. maybe its the series format that makes it work opposed to trying to shoehorn years of lore into a 2 hour or 3h mark just doesnt work

idk maybe a new era of vidya IP can work with the series format which is far from anything new in this "binge" era of TV/cinema and im all for it if it means kino vidya content...
