MECHANIC SKILLS ? ABSOLUTELY NONE. why mike had offered to help her was beyond him. maybe he was too nice. somewhere deep down within the hollows of his bones. or maybe she had already done so much for him that the thought of leaving her stranded made a heavy weight of guilt settle in his stomach. it nearly suffocated the guilt that had already made its home there. just shut up and help, mike. ❛❛ hey. it's fine. i can . . . i can try and take a peek at it if you want. ❜❜ maybe if he fiddled with the inner workings of the car enough, something would happen. and if he didn't accidentally blow them both up . . . well, it would be a damn good day. maybe. not really. ❛❛ i mean . . . i don't really know much about cars. you've seen mine. but it can't be that hard to figure out. right ? ❜❜

HEAD KNOCKS AGAINST THE OPEN HOOD OF HER CAR. pain immediately t h r o b s in the crown of her head, a hand reaching for the aching bump. black clouds of smoke waft from within the hood, chased by her free hand waving over the engine. ❛❛ i'm sorry. it'll be fine in a minute. the car, i mean. not me. i mean, i'll be fine too but my kia's a bit . . . ❜❜ words are chased by a grimace as she backs away from the smoky vehicle. she's regretting taking shortcuts and has since decided that she despises her beat - up old car. squinting against the light, eyes affix themselves on the rusty sign above their heads, brows furrowing briefly before letting her gaze drop down to meet the other's face. ❛❛ maybe i should call a tow truck. my boss is gonna kill me either way. ❜❜
