Eddie Munson x Reader, Soulmate AU
Where every injury you get shows up on your soulmates body, just without the physical pain or blood loss. One day, in 1986, you wake up and look drastically different.
This is my first attempt at writing, so sorry if it’s utter trash. I might end up fleshing it out in the future, but for now, it’s a fun little blurb
It started pretty small. A few scraped knees and bruises every once in a while, curtesy of your soulmate. But nothing too drastic. Then, when you were about 9 years old, you woke up one morning to find a deep red circle on your left shoulder. You didn’t think much of it until you were pulled out of class, taken to the guidance counselor and asked if your parents did this to you. That was when you learnt that it was a cigarette burn, and that you were so very lucky to have the home life that you did.
Over the next two years, five more burns appeared on your skin, coupled with large bruises littering you torso. But never anything too big. Never anything that was too hard to hide. Looking back, you suppose that’s how it was able to continue for as long as it did.
Eventually, the attacker got lazy. They ended up giving your soulmate a black eye and other visible wounds, and you went back to only receiving the occasional reminder that your soulmate existed. Wholesome, innocent marks of a life well lived.
Until March of ‘86.
