"ah, there you are - again ." monica was tight-lipped, unsure how to feel about the other woman. she was always approaching her like they were best friends, but monica just did not know why. "are you always this over-friendly with everyone, or am i just the lucky one?" she asked, partly sarcastic but also curious.

Rachel had taken a walk with Emma. She was off work for the day, and had wanted to spend time with her daughter as much as she could. She hadn't expected to see Monica. She hadn't seen her since the ball. She knew she was probably starting to be an annoyance, but she couldn't help it. She missed her badly. So she walked over to her. "Hi again!"

"yeah, i bet you loved exploring," eli teased their best friend. "i seem to recall you weren't exploring on your own." they gathered their thoughts for a moment. "the ball was alright. auden got me to dance, if you can believe it."

Abe smiled at his best friend as they took a break from their bikes. "So, how was your Valentine's? Was it everything you ever dreamed?" He grins. "I thought the ball was really cool myself, I loved exploring the museum."

"listen, if there's one thing i learned by living here and also where i come from... the next tragic event is just around the corner. eventually, it'll happen. me sittinig around stressing about what may be isn't gonna stop it." no, michael would rather drink about it. his way of dealing wasn't healthy, but he'd given up caring.

"if you're nervous around fire , sitting around a fire probably isn't the place to be ," charlie pointed out with a laugh . they hopped down on the seat beside her and shook their head . "nope , no bear . just a boy who grew up in the frosty land of new england ."

"yes, thank you very much. i would have done it, but fire makes me nervous." riley admitted with a nod. "you must be like a bear! i don't think they notice cold either."

jack had grown up as an only child . it wasn't until just about a couple of years ago when he was stranded on an island that he'd discovered he had a long lost sister on the other side of the planet . unfortunately now , he had no idea about any of that since his memories had been erased . so zola somehow , naturally felt like that missing piece of him . "guess i am ." a smile threatened to appear on his face as he dropped his clipboard to the side and began to lead the way .

a wide smile appeared on zola's lips as she got the okay. "you're the best!" normally zola was much more reserved with her enthusiasm, but this time it poured out of her. this is part of why she adored max so much. from the start he had seen potential in her. she never had any siblings, so she sort of grabbed on to him as a brother and never let go. "i'm going to be taking so many notes." and that wasn't a lie as she had her notebook and a pen in her hand.

"you do ?" irina questioned curiously , amazed that after all of these years there were still things she was learning about her sister . "it doesn't make you violently ill or anything ?"

"I still drink gin, especially for public events," Kate shrugged, "Do you want anything to drink?" she asked.

"i'm attending ," irina nodded in confirmation . the vampire gave a nonchalant shrug . she didn't care about the holiday one way or another . "it's not like i'm going to have any romance or anything like that . my love life is as dead as me ."

"Thank you," Garrett replies, adjusting his tie. He didn't get dressed up much, but he thought he'd make the effort -- for Kate, at least. He loved her dearly, and wanted to show it. "Do you plan on attending, then? Or are you going to skip out on it? I find not many people are fond of the holiday."

the tension in the room was still pretty visible as arnold awaited connor's answer . what may have felt like a simple conversation to anyone else was stressful to the boy - having to anticipate what social option might be chosen for him put someone with such severe social anxiety in a vulenrable position they didn't much enjoy . but for connor and the sake of their budding friendship , they would remain open to the best of their ability . "alright ," arnold sighed with some relief as options began to be eliminated . "sure , a movie it is ." he already had his phone out and pulled up the local ticket times to prepare .

Watching the other, Connor let the suggestions hang in the air for a couple of seconds before he nodded. "I would like to do something chill so no club and no sports game. But then again I am not really the biggest fan of sports. Waste of my time" he shrugged. "But we can watch a movie"
