“Oh!” Her eyes widened and she let out a little nervous laugh. “Um, yeah, I might have gotten a little in my head, about how to do this and what you might want,” she admitted. She pressed her lips together, feeling warm and happy about his reaction to this. “Those reasons being you’re a guy?” she let out a little joke to diffuse some of the nervousness in her. “I really like knowing you want to be with me like that,” she leaned in to press her lips softly to his.

Nik didn’t waste more time with her in his arms to begin toward his bedroom, his walk slow. “There’s nothing to get in your head about. You... that’s all I want,” he assured, leaning in to plan a kiss to her neck. “Mmm.. no those reasons being you look the way you do and it’s impossible not to want you,” he shook his head. It was soon enough he was lying her on his bed, not rushing things, he let himself fall beside her, hand comfortably on her stomach, leaning into her kiss. “I like feeling like this,” he let out with a breath, sinking to her lips.

Her smile grew at the touch, her teeth sinking into her bottom lip as she nodded. “If you’re asking me to get creative, you might be sorely disappointed,” she teased lightly and pressed into his kiss, fingers skimming through his hair. “Just being with you. Completely. The whole cheesy being one with you thing,” she blushed. “Is that ok? I know it’s not exactly what we’d talked about.”

“Just asking to hear your thoughts, Willy,” he shook his head. He let out a little hum against her lips as he slipped back into the kiss with her words. “I like the sound of that,” the words came out in a whisper, almost a confession. It wasn’t the way he normally looked at sex, but with her it held that weight. “Of course it’s okay,” he nodded, pulling his head back to look at her. “I want to be with you so bad-- for obvious reasons,” he chuckled, but bit his lip. “But for those reasons too.. to feel closer to you, to connect with you.”

She nodded a little shyly, a small smile growing on her lips. “Yeah. I know. I’ve never felt pressured by you.” Her fingers brushed through his hair. “I mean obviously if you wanted that, but…yeah. I, um, I’ve been thinking about it for a while actually.”

Nik rested his forehead on hers at her touch. His hands both drifted down to graze over her ass to slip down to her thighs. “Have you now?” He asked, hands slipping further down just to lift her legs, guiding them around her waist. “Tell me more about these thoughts?” He mumbled, leaning in for another kiss. It came as a surprise, not thinking they’d get to this step until he was able to commit, but he certainly wasn’t going to hesitate.

She could feel a heat in her cheeks and flutters in her stomach as Nik’s hands ran over it. It was more than just the nervousness she expected, but excitement. She wanted to give more of herself too him, even if it didn’t mean getting any answers or clarity about them. “Um- well.” She wet her lips, pulling back just enough to look him in the eye. “What if…I let you?”

Nik’s head cocked back at her words, his brows tugging together, but the smile rising up his lips. “Are you sure, baby?” He asked, his other hand roaming up and down her side.��"You know there’s no pressure right?”

A small laugh escaped as he pulled her in, her arms automatically going to rest on his shoulders. “Almost too convincingly. I was almost nervous you didn’t like what you saw.” She couldn’t help but smile between kisses. “So…you do like it, right?”

He craved closeness with her in a way he didn’t with anyone else, something soothing about just her arms around him. “Willy,” he chuckled, shaking his head. “I love it,” he let his hand move up her stomach, fingers dancing over the fabric. “Love it enough to want to peel it off you,” he chuckled into her lips, sinking into a deepened kiss.

“Finally we can make out,” he groaned, teasingly as he put their dinner plates in the sink, his eyes greedily moving down her body, hands quick to catch her waist to pull her in. “Did I pull off the gentleman thing in not staring at you too much through dinner?” He teased, not waiting to steal a kiss.

Willow: I think Rockford has been the start of a lot of new things for me. I don't want to date the kind of person I would have dated back in New York. So that means finding what's compatible with this version of me here. It's a lot of discovery. Well I guess me and you, but if you don't like watching the news, we don't have to haha. It's more like background noise than anything else. I enjoy all the time I get with you too.

Willow: Good. I like when you smile. How does it feel for you? Versus what you expected it to be. Or I guess how does it feel for you in general? I know you told me I'm different and you'd hate to lose me. And I trust that. I think I just have a hard time translating that in my head to the relationships I'm used to. I think what worries me is I'll think I know where I stand and I'll be wrong.

Nik: In a good way you think? What was the kind of guy you would have dated back there? How do you feel like that discovery has been going then? I feel like it's a comfort or something, it's like a security blanket. Admit it. I wanna kiss you.

Nik: I do have a pretty smile, don't I? It's not really about like what I expected, idk if I had expectations. But it's just like, idk, it's not surface level. It's not just about us enjoying doing different types of things we normally would... it's like, idk, mind and mu soul feel more at peace with you in my life. Idk if that feels too intense and I'm creeping you out with that though. I'm not going to blindside you with anything, Willy. I promise you that.

Willow: I think you think too much of me. I definitely don't know what it is I want. Maybe in both life and romance. But thank you for saying that. It's actually kind of relieving to hear it. Not that you make me feel like I'm a drag, but it's nice to know I'm not. And it's nice to know you like everything we do together.

Willow: I don't need to make you a list, but I want to let you know. Even if it doesn't end up helping you feel more secure, I think you balance me. You help me make sure I don't stay in my comfort zone, and I need that. You show me how to have fun in ways I didn't know I could. And you've got a big heart. As much as I'm not used to how we're doing things and how I would be more comfortable knowing where we stand, I like the fact that we're growing together.

Nik: You don't know what you want in a romantic sense? No, of course you're not. I don't make a habit to spend so much time doing things I don't enjoy. I enjoy all the time I get with you. Literally watching the news with you is fun. And who watches the news anymore?!

Nik: Shucks, Willy. You're making me all sorts of smiley over here. I think we do a good job of balancing each other out. We're good for each other in a lot of ways. I recognized that from the beginning, but seeing it and feeling it are different things, I guess. And feeling it is... it's really fucking nice. I know we're in a gray area, but you don't think you know where you stand with me?

Willow: A girl like me? What does a girl like me? Because believe it or not, I feel the same way about you. Because you're energetic and outgoing and spontaneous and I feel like with a personality like mine, it's got to be kind of a drag for you, right? Not that I want to be a drag for you but...I've got insecurities too. I don't know what I offer you either.

Willow: If you wanted...I could try to put it to words? Why I like you?

Nik: A girl like you who's smart and successful and beautiful and mature and has her shit together. I would think that you'd want that. Someone with their shit together. Someone who knows themselves and what they want and can offer you what you want without it being such a process the way I've made it. You're not a drag on me at all, Willy. I like our dynamic. I like you being the smart sensible one and still caving to let me rope you into dumb shit sometimes. I like that you slow me down and make it just as enjoyable to stay in and drink some wine on the couch and just talk. I like us. I know me saying that doesn't make your insecurities go away, but nothing about you feels like a drag on me.

Nik: I mean if you want to compliment me I'm not gonna say no, but you don't need to do that. I'm a big boy, you shouldn't need to make a list of why you like me for me to feel secure in it.

Willow: Do you think I’m shallow?

Willow: I can’t stop thinking about you asking me if I was interested in you or the idea of being with someone more, and I was telling a friend and she basically said the same thing, and I just worry I come off as the kind of person that only wants to be in a relationship, and I’m worried you think that’s the only thing I’m after with you, and it’s not. And I don’t know what the right thing to say to you to help you understand that is but I like you. I like being with you.

Nik: Willy, no.

Nik: When I asked you that it was more about me than you. I just have my own shit and my own insecurities, and it makes me just question why you would or could like me. Or maybe not like me, but actually want to be with me. Like, I know I'm fun to be around, I know I'm pretty likeable, but I don't know what else I offer to a girl like you, and maybe that sounds pathetic or even attention seeking, but it's just... how I feel. And it's my own cross to bear, my own thing to get over. I don't see you as shallow or someone who just needs someone else. I just... it's just hard for me to come to terms that I'm the person you want, but that isn't on you.

“Damn! I was hoping you would argue me on that one,” he frowned, but laughed in reality. “You’ve been holding off cannolis?! Come on, gimme the goods!”

“I don’t remember promising that they would be romantic letters. Why would I want to be romantic with a murderer?” she rose a brow, trying to hide an amused smile.  She could feel a blush or embarrassment creeping up. “I know talking about it like this must be incredibly unsexy to you,” she gave a nervous laugh. “I just-um. It meant a lot to me that you trusted me enough to be open and vulnerable with me.” She looked down at their hands, hers coming over his. “I want to do that with you too.  We’ve both been holding things back, and I want to show you how comfortable I am with you,” she tried to explain. “Well how much are you charging? I was kind of hoping I could just pay you in kisses,” she laughed.

“Then I don’t want any of your letters! Keep them!” He feigned offense, shaking his head at her. “No, Willy, you’re fine,” he assured, flipping his hand to hold hers, giving it a little squeeze. “So then show me that-- show me how comfortable you are with me,” he looked up at her with a little smile. “I can’t tell you what you’re comfortable with. Nothing you choose to wear is going to be any kind of disappointment or anything,” he assured, biting his lip. “Like I think you look sexy as hell right now so,” he shrugged with a little chuckle. “Mmm... well I do need something to sustain my existence too.”

“I’m not worked up about muffins, I’m worked up about women’s suffrage, obviously,” Nik shook his head at her. “You think it’s a self awareness issue?”
