I’ve been working on my craft since I was 13- I’m 18 about to be 19 in a few months. Anyways…something I’ve learned is that you are always learning and it’s hard to manage your craft when yes it being extremely commercialized! You’re going to stray and it’s not always a smooth ride BUT- some tips

• you don’t need to buy stuff go outside, find some trinkets you like, use an old journal that’s personal to you

•YouTube and Pinterest and tumblr honestly helped me a lot in my craft in learning my way and that fancy crystals and incense aren’t always what we need

•YOU CAN BE A CHRISTIAN WITCH!!! you can worship one god, multiple dieties, spirits, saints, nothing or anything and everything

•just because you’re drawn to the craft doesn’t mean you have to dress or look a certain way you don’t need a fancy grimoire or herbs

•spend the first two years learning and exploring: divination, kitchen craft, elemental and lunar magick, astronomy AND Astrology etc. Etc.

ITS A WHOLE PROCESS BUT YOU WILL FIND YOUR CALLING it may be instant, take a year or two or five but trust me it is a beautiful way of believing and BE WARNED you may accidentally summon or bring in a demon so be very knowledgeable on protecting yourself :3

This is going to make me sound like a cantankerous old bitch, but meh, I'm gonna say it anyway.

Witchcraft is too commercialised nowadays.

It's great to see so many witchcraft books and supplies available. I can walk into kmart or big w and find witchcraft books, tarot cards, and crystals now.

The problem, though, is that everything that's readily available to the masses (i.e. the first thing witchlings may interact with) is all so watered down to be socially acceptable that it gives a warped view to new practitioners while being simultaneously useless to experienced practitioners.

As much as I love how personalised the craft is, I genuinely wish more experienced witches published their personal grimoires and gnosis. I would love to see what others are working on/what works for them.

So here's my plea: if you're an experienced witch (I.e. practising for over 5 years and working your own path), please share a little titbit of what you're currently working/researching/crafting.
