Hide and seek
Just found a youtube video of Imogen Heap singing Hide and Seek alongside a London choir.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDghE74HRWs When it hits those choruses, it just reminds me exactly of the choral version of Hide and Seek that’s playing in Act Two, Scene Six where Scorpius and Albus are standing at the edge of the forest, looking up at Hogwarts.
Cue the tears for a thoroughly unexpected trip down Cursed Child memory lane. And for such a thoroughly moving rendition of such a beautiful song.

Music
Every time I listen to First Train Home, I honestly have such a visceral reaction to the first few notes. Just takes me right back to that second I was there, in Hogwarts/the Palace Theatre, watching a group of amazing actors bring to life a further instalment of a story that I have been engrossed with since I was 10 years old. It just got me thinking about how important the music is in this play. We focus on how the actors make us feel, but their portrayal is only half of the story that's being told. The music somehow manages to take an emotion and make it music that heightens and transforms everything in the play onto another level. First Train Home just seems to capture the anticipation and excitement that everyone (including the actors I bet) feels right before the play unfolds. Hide and Seek in the form it takes in the play is so familiar but so different and beautiful, you're kind of almost in as much awe as Scorpius and Albus are when they're looking at Hogwarts. Half Life - Can't even say words for this. No words. Somehow manages to put actual heartbreak feelings into a song. Forever grateful to Imogen Heap for lending her talent to this play - it truly would not be the same without her music.

Cursed Child photo shoot
Keep watching the new Cursed Child photo shoot video and cannot help but feel all the emotions (actually weeping and can’t seem to stop myself) Was so worried about cast change because I didn’t think they could possibly get it anymore perfect than they did first time around, but made a pact with myself to wait until I saw the new cast in their costumes. I’m so glad I did that because the more I watch it, the more I am convinced that it’s going to be a good year :) Looking forward to seeing the new cast in action on June 4th!

Oh my goodness, yes. This.
When I stand in front of the Palace Theatre, looking up at its beauty and thinking about all the wonders that take place within, I reckon I feel a lot like Scorpius does gazing at Hogwarts.

Cursed Child Merch
I remember on the Cursed Child store website a while ago, there was a bit that said they were going to start selling hats and scarves and that they were “coming soon”. I’ve been on the website pretty much all the time cause all I want is one of the Slytherin scarves but they don’t seem to have ever been put on sale on the website... Just wondering if I’ve just completely missed it, or if they are just selling them in the store in the theatre?  I’ve been looking for these for so long :(

Yes - this! I was thinking this myself. HPCC is supposed to have a system that deters touts anyway so must not be working effectively enough. Just think its awful that instead of implementing a new system like the system Hamilton UK has used, they’re willing to penalise real Harry Potter fans financially because of touts. Doesn’t seem as customer focused as they said their ticketing system would be :(
Not sure if it's permanent
But premium tickets for this month are £199 again.

This honestly makes me so sad. Not only will they be “deterring touts”, but they’ll be deterring genuine fans as well. Such a shame :(

Now that’s interesting. When I checked the website this morning and it said premium tickets would be £125 per part and then the usual spiel, but I just rechecked there and it’s back to £99.50. Hopefully they had a change of heart?

Cursed Child Premium Ticket Prices
I actually cannot believe that the price of premium tickets for Cursed Child has gone up AGAIN. Used to be £190, then it was £199 and now it is £250 for ONE person to see both parts of the show. For two people, £500. For a family of four it would be £1000, which is quite frankly ridiculous. Not only that, but seeing as the play is only in London, many people have to pay further costs, such as travel to London, accommodation etc...
I find it horrendous that they are taking further advantage of Harry Potter fans who are desperate to see the play by continually putting the price of these tickets up. I think as Harry Potter fans, we know that we’re likely to be taken advantage of with the prices of things (I mean, I paid £7 for a slytherin quill when I went to see the play and I still don’t know what possessed me) but what frustrates me is that they know this and are WILLING to continually take further advantage just to make further profit. I am sure that they are making more than enough money from this play and Harry Potter fans. I feel sad for people who are desperate to see the play because they are visiting London and would like to see it when they’re there, or who just can’t wait until the next ticket release because they are just such big fans they are desperate to see it sooner.
Harry Potter has always been accessible for all. You could buy the books and read them again and again. Same goes for the DVD’s. If you couldn’t afford them you could even go to the library. It just feels that the new pricing for tickets completely flies in the face of the accessibility of the Harry Potter series. Harry Potter fans who were not lucky enough to get a ticket to see it (despite battling with the absolute disaster of a ticketing system) are now being priced out of the only other way of seeing the continuation of a story that has shaped their lives (and yes, I know there’s the Friday Forty but again, difficult for people who live outside of London who would have travel and accommodation to arrange) I feel lucky to have seen the play and I feel so sad for those fans who haven’t seen it and are being priced out of the opportunity. Genuinely thought that given the history and themes of the Harry Potter story, that ticket pricing would not be as elitist and inaccessible as it is. Sort it out.

If I remember right, it’s the song that’s playing in the background of this video? It’s been so long since I’ve seen the play I’m struggling to remember though, so forgive me if I’m wrong! If it is, I’ve not been able to find it anywhere despite going through most of Imogen Heap’s song catalogue :( It’s such a shame because it is my absolute favourite after Cumulus. Would love to know what it is!
Do you by any chance know the song playing in the background when Harry is searching for albus in the forest?
I found a comment on a post from a while ago where someone said it was Have You Got it In You?, but I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate. I can feel the music you’re talking about, but not quite hear it in my head. It’s really quiet, dreamy and slightly spooky. I remember it feeling perfect for evoking a forest at night.
And that was extremely unhelpful to you, I’m sorry. Maybe some of Cumulus? God, I really need to see the play again. :(
Anyone else have an answer for this? If you’re seeing the play soon can you pay attention to that scene and report back? <3
