you know how i said ages ago i wasn't taking a hiatus? well, i kind of lied, if only because that was absolutely NOT how i initially intended things to pan out at all! um and then several months passed--

work is busy as, life is busy as, there really isn't much more to say about it. and sometimes i think about coming back because i feel bad about going radio silent, but i don't wanna force myself before i'm ready. i'm really just trying my damnedest to look after me right now, especially with how crazy wild bananas the world's become lately (and some things in my own personal life too, that the internet has no right to details on - remember those days?). the aforementioned world will keep on spinning in the meantime.

Why are you doing this? What’s it all about?

In Jones’ own words: “It has been a rough several months for my family. My dad had a stroke (he’s made a wonderful recovery though), my mother-in-law passed away unexpectedly, we were without electric for a month, and all of this combined with my tendency to internalize everything caused something to break inside me and I spent several days at a psych hospital. With his mother passing away and me being in the hospital (we have 3 girls that I wasn’t there to take care of), my husband has missed a fair bit of work, he got no check at all a couple weeks ago. Bills have gotten behind, as well as new bills been added. $1300 for the hospital stay (after the insurance has paid their portion), $25 co-pay every week for therapy and $10 a month for meds. I worry about the continued financial strain and the affect it is having and will continue to have on my anxiety.“

The Sims community is special. Sure, there are other gaming communities with their own modding communities. But the Sims isn’t like other games and we aren’t like other communities. Recently a member of our community has been struggling, so we have come up with the Back on Track project to help her.

About This Download:

Ivy in the Middle with Grapes!

In keeping with the idea of a helping community, this ivy allows Sims in low spirits (red aspiration) to confide their problems. Maybe the house is a mess? Perhaps the garden is overrun with weeds? Maybe the shower needs to be fixed? Or perhaps there just isn’t enough food in the fridge to feed everyone?

Shortly after your Sim whispers a problem to the ivy, a neighbor will come by (during daylight hours) to assist. Word travels through the grapevine, you see. :)

The ivy can be found in Decorative -> Plants for $0 because you should never feel punished for asking for help when you are in need.

The ivy requires the Mansion and Garden Stuff Pack because it pulls its textures from the wall ivy that came with the pack. The grapes are a separate subset set so they will work with any recolors.

Polycounts are 220.

Please let me know if there are any issues with the object. As always, be sure to be descriptive; simply saying “it doesn’t work” doesn’t help me to help you. Also please note that the ivy will only maintain one interaction at a time. So if your Sim needs help with both gardening and cleaning (for example), you will either need two plants or wait until the ivy has pushed one of the interactions onto a neighbor.

dear small tumblr following that i have apparently amassed for my little retexturinos,

first of all thank you :) it means a lot to me that people enjoy these retextures as much as i do

now, just wanted to quickly say i am not taking a ~hiatus~ or anything dramatic like that from ts2 cc creation, i've just been getting a lot more hours per week at work now, and i'm spending a lot of my free time either actually playing sims 2, or playing other games like cluedo and doom lol

not to worry, i'll get around to chipping away at my backlog of retextures when i feel up to it <3

Hi, hi! Jumping in to say I use this functionality very frequently whenever I'm installing multiple lots by the same creator at a time, or a set of Sims, etc.

Can confirm you still get prompted for options per .sims2pack as per normal, it just runs through every file in a specific folder.

With that in mind, can also confirm, it literally runs through every file in a specific folder, so if you have .sims2pack files mixed with other file formats in the same folder, e.g. the .zip/.rar/.7z archive you may have extracted the .sims2pack(s) from, S2CI will throw an error when it reaches those files that aren't .sims2pack format.

I just solve this by placing all the extracted sims2pack files into a separate folder by themselves, usually named "EXTRACT" or something like that, open my "Sims2Pack Clean Installer Batch Install" shortcut (literally just a shortcut I made in the same folder as the S2CI just with the -f arg slapped on at the end), and point it to the "EXTRACT" folder.

Did anyone else know of this trick I accidentally discovered with Sims2Pack Clean Installer? How many of us have opened each individual file and downloaded, which takes forever?

Basically, if you make a shortcut of Sims2Pack Clean Installer.exe, and go into properties like so,

if you put the suffix -f after the path in Target, it will load up this window:

So, from here, you locate a folder with all the sims2packs you want to install and tada! All installed at once, hassle free

And if this was common knowledge and I'm just stupid, well, idk lol

They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.

Striped tops!

I’ve decided to give up on TS3 since my computer won’t cooperate. Back to TS1 and TS2 it is! And here’s a little gift for you.

Five colours for adults! The purple(first picture) and rose(second picture) colours are pretty alike, but you will notice a difference in BodyShop and ingame. The mesh is by Amaryll, I’ve just mixed around with the texture and alpha-edited it. This top unfortunately does not work with all bottoms. “Bigger” pants and skirts will stick out at the bottom of the top, but it doesn’t look too bad really! All credit goes to Amaryll.

Mesh is included.
