Wicked Movie Dream Cast
It has been announced that āWickedā will be adapted into a movie, and will be released in 2021, so I thought Iād make my own dream cast, even though Iām not too sure about it yet, and Iād love to hear your thoughts as well.
While making this list, I had some criteria I wanted to stick to:
Cast people who have proven they can sing the songs from the show, so the person will probably have done musical theatre in the past.
Try to cast people who are recognisable to mainstream audiences, not just us theatre lovers
Try to stick roughly within age ranges of characters if possible, or cast people who look the same age as the characters
Cast people who have played similar roles in other shows or have played the same role (optional)
Elphaba - Samantha Barks
Samantha Barks played Eponine in Les Miserables on the West End and in the movie, so we know sheād have no trouble belting out songs like āThe Wizard And Iā. She also competed in a BBC talent show called āIād Do Anythingā, and sang āDefying Gravityā, so sheād be brilliant at that. Most recently, she played Vivian in the musical adaptation of āPretty Womanā on Broadway, and youād need to ask someone else if sheās still there. Samantha would be a wonderful fit for the role of Elphaba, and Iād really like to see her play the role on Broadway and/ or the West End.
G(a)linda - Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick is most well known to mainstream audiences as Beca Mitchell in the āPitch Perfectā movies. However, not everyone knows that she started out on Broadway, and was nominated for a Tony Award at the age of twelve for originating the role of Dinah Lord in āHigh Societyā on Broadway, and also played Fredrika Armfeldt in āA Little Night Musicā. Sheās most well known for her filmography, and several of the movies she has starred in have been musicals. I think sheād be able to bring the right amount of sass and sweetness to the role, and vocally, I donāt think sheād have much trouble with Glinda. Also, just imagine Anna and Samantha singing āFor Goodā, it would be stunning.
Fiyero - Darren Criss
Need I say more? All us Starkids know Darren as Harry Freakinā Potter, so he has the charm and charisma necessary for Fiyero. He also definitely has a mischievous side to him but can also be very sweet and caring. Thinking about it, Harry and Fiyero are more similar characters than I realised. Anyway, Iām getting sidetracked, Darren has also played numerous roles on Broadway, and has starred in popular TV shows such as āGleeā and āThe Assassination of Gianni Versaceā, the latter of which I am currently binge watching and loving. All in all, I think Darren would be a fantastic fit for the role of Fiyero, and I really want to hear him singing āAs Long As Youāre Mineā with Samantha, I think it would be beautiful.
Nessarose - Barrett Wilbert Weed
Youād be hard pressed to find a theatre fan unfamiliar with Barrett Wilbert Weed, but if you donāt know her, sheās most well known and loved for originating the roles of Veronica Sawyer in āHeathersā and Janis Sarkisian in āMean Girlsā. Barrett definitely has the vocals to take on any role, and I partly cast her as Nessa and not Elphaba because sheās the only person on this list that doesnāt have the same mainstream appeal as the others. That being said, I think sheād make a great Nessa She can definitely play the hopelessly in love girl that Nessa is in Act 1, and I donāt see her struggling with Nessaās slightly evil turn in Act 2 when she curses Boq. It would be a very different role, but I think Barrett would be brilliant as Nessarose.
Boq - Ben Platt
I really donāt need to go into much detail here. Ben has proved he can play the awkward, lovestruck kid as evidenced by Evan in āDear Evan Hansenā. Ben has played multiple roles on Broadway, so we know heās a talented performer. Iād only be worried about Boqās transformation into the Tin Man. He becomes much more vengeful, and loses his sweet, innocent, caring personality, probably because his heart was shrunk by Nessa. However, I think Ben would be able to pull this transformation off. Heās a talented actor, so I donāt think heād struggle at all, we just havenāt seen him as this sort of character, but I think heād make a wonderful Boq.
The Wizard - Neil Patrick Harris
How perfect is this! Neil would definitely nail the kooky, eccentric aspect of The Wizard, and heās proved he can play a villain on āA Series Of Unfortunate Eventsā where he plays Count Olaf. He also matches how I imagine The Wizard would look, seems quite nice, doesnāt really look like he could beat you in a fight (sorry, Neil). For the record, I was very close to casting Hugh Jackman as The Wizard, but decided to cast Neil because he matches how I imagine The Wizard to look, and heās played more roles that would suggest to me that he'd be able to play The Wizard. I honestly think Neil is the perfect casting choice for The Wizard and will honestly be confused if he isnāt cast.
Madame Morrible - Glenn Close
Are there many people who can play a villain better than Glenn Close? Famous for playing Cruella De Vil in the live action remake of ā101 Dalmatiansā and Alex Forrest in āFatal Attractionā, probably one of her most iconic and scary roles. She has also performed extensively on the stage. She was nominated for a Tony for originating the role of Charity Barnum in āBarnumā, and going on to win three Tonys. Really, name one person who could play Madame Morrible better than Glenn Close, and donāt say Meryl Streep because I really donāt think sheād be a good Madame Morrible, she hasnāt proved she is capable of it. Anyway, I think Glenn Close would be a fantastic Madame Morrible.
Dr. Dillamond - James Corden
Dr. Dillamond probably has the most jokes in the show, but also has to be very serious at times. James Corden would be perfect. Heās a very funny man, as evidenced by literally everything he does, but he can get serious. His performance as The Baker in āInto The Woodsā was brilliant, and it proves that he can be both funny and serious when he needs to be. And can you imagine him appearing after āWonderfulā? That would be heartbreaking. Dr. Dillamond is not the biggest role in the show, so there isnāt too much time for the show to make you care about him. Of course, we all do, but having someone so recognisable and well-liked having this fate would be terrible. Iām also going to add here that they had better use make-up for Dr. Dillamond in the movie. Iām gonna be so upset if they make Dr. Dillamond CGI. Anyway, James Corden would be a great match for Dr. Dillamond and I would love if he was cast in the movie.
And that is my dream cast for the movie adaptation of āWickedā, which would also make an amazing Broadway/ West End cast. I might do more dream casts in the future if I have any good ones.

The Guy Who Didnāt Like Musicals Theory - The Central Brain
We all know that Paul didnāt destroy he central brain during Let It Out, and Iāve heard plenty of theories on why. But Iām going to throw my idea out there. Iām sure plenty of people will have had this thought as well, though.
Throughout the show, we are given hints that to defeat the alien threat, the characters need to ācut off the headā, meaning destroy whatever is controlling them, which we learn is the central brain or hive mind. Emma and Hidgens believe that the central brain is the meteor that crashed into the Starlight Theatre and ruined Billās evening. However, Paul throws a grenade into the meteor, and the aliens seem fine. Why?
My guess is that the central brain was never on Earth. I think that the meteor was just sent down to get the spores on Earth so the aliens could begin taking over the planet. Maybe they were aiming at Clivesdale, as it is part of the mainland and better connected, but missed slightly and hit Hatchetfield, forcing them to alter their plan slightly.
The meteor was disposable. If it was destroyed, they could just send another down, or use the humans theyād taken over to get to the mainland and cause chaos over there. We do know that the aliens can talk like normal humans do, like after Not Your Seed when we see Alice, Deb and āThe Beeā talking to Paul.
Which brings me to where I believe the central brain to be. Itās still in the alien ship. It must be. The aliens prove themselves to be incredibly intelligent, like when they take down Charlotte by emotionally manipulating her. They may not be brilliant at actually killing people (seriously, they had so many opportunities to kill the group), but they are smart. Would they really send the one thing that could defeat them down to Earth where it could be destroyed? No, they kept it safe and controlled the citizens of Hatchetfield from above.
Thatās my little theory. Of course, maybe Iām wrong, but I think I have a good theory here.

Starkidās Black Friday Fan Fiction
BANG!
Pain shot through Lex's body as the bullet entered her gut. Tears formed in her eyes, and she felt faint. She fell back, but someone caught her and gently lowered her to the ground.
"Ethan," she said weakly.
"It's okay, I'm here," he said softly.
"Ethan, if I don't make it, take Hannah to California without me. Just get her out of Hatchetfield alive, please," she said. She could feel the life draining out of her.
"I will, I promise I'll protect her. We'll go to California," he said.
"Thank you, Ethan," she smiled a little, then added in a whisper, "I love you."
"I love you, Lex," he smiled down at her. Then, Lex went still. Her breathing stopped. Ethan closed her now lifeless eyes. He felt tears roll down his cheeks as he cradled Lex in his arms. He stayed with her, for what felt like an eternity, thinking about the time when she was alive, when they were happy.
No, I can't leave her here like this, Ethan thought, she doesn't deserve this. He carefully picked her up and carried her through the toy store. He found a nice, quiet place and put her down. There, she's just sleeping. He kissed her forehead and left her to find Hannah, to fulfil her last request.
Ethan snuck around the store, looking for Hannah. Lex had hidden her somewhere to keep her safe.
"Ethan?" a small voice said.
"Hannah, sweetheart, where are you?" Ethan whispered back.
"I'm in the cupboard," she pushed the door open a little, and Ethan slipped inside.
"Hannah, thank god you're safe," Ethan hugged her tightly in relief.
"Where's Lex?" she asked. A wave of guilt came over Ethan. He had to tell her.
"Hannah, I'm so sorry, there was a fight in the store, and Lex didn't make it out alive," he said gently. He watched tears begin to fall from Hannah's eyes. He pulled her into another tight hug.
"I'm sorry, Hannah," Ethan whispered into her hair.
"What happened to her?" Hannah said through tears.
"Someone fired their gun, and Lex was unlucky. She told me to look after you, and get you to California, and I will. We're going to get out of here, with a Wiggly doll, and we're going to go to California, and we're going to be safe forever," Ethan said, "is that okay with you, sweetie?" he pulled out of the hug and looked Hannah in the eye. She nodded.
"She left Wiggly in here for me," Hannah grabbed a box with the Wiggly doll inside. Ethan smiled.
"Well, I think it's quiet outside, if we run, we'll get out of the store and to safety," Ethan said. He poked his head out of the door to check if anyone was there.
"Coast is clear, you ready to run?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah," Hannah replied.
He took her hand, and they sprinted out of the store. Everyone else was preoccupied with something at the other side of the store to notice them making their getaway with the Wiggly doll. They kept running, and running, and running, until they knew they were safe.
"We made it," Ethan said, "we survived."
He and Hannah stood for a moment to catch their breath.
"Ok, we can get the ferry off the island, and Lex bought train tickets to get us to California. Are you ready to go?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah," Hannah said.
"Come on, sweetheart," Ethan said. They walked along the almost empty streets of Hatchetfield, heading to their new life in California.
