@ask-the-smash-secretary had the excellent idea of making Alolan forms of the Pokemon (or Musemon) from the @nintendaskpokemonhack, so since nobody has really jumped on this bandwagon yet, I figured I would.
So here we have Spooktor & Medighoul (I decided to change the name because I just realized how stupid “Phantomedic” sounds) accompanied by their Alolan forms.

“CERTAIN MUSEMON ARE THRIVING IN ALOLA!”
Gentrush, frequenting colder climates, proceeded to venture out towards new territory as warmer climates drew near. Newly organizing in Sandy plains, the pokemon have grown smaller and more agile as their thick winter coats shed.
(( I still hold dear to my heart the belief that @nintendaskpokemonhack was one of my favorite things to come out of this community. So much teamwork coming together, helping each other with final ideas, and even collaborating on sprite work was amazing to see unfold.
So of course being Pokemon Trash, I had to revisit Lady’s Musemon. I probably could’ve gotten for creative with abilities and new typing, but I just wanted to redesign it a little bit. ))

I just started my play through of this amazing hack and I think I encountered a small visual bug.
as you can see Nymphbow is using the sprite for Flurrie from super mario bros 2 on the menu screen.
I’m playing on Visual Boy Advance.
my operating system is Windows 7 home basic 64-bit.
my character is male.
I didn’t know if this as a bug or if Nymphbow simply doesn’t have a menu screen sprite, but thought I’d report it just in case.
No worries, that’s normal. Not all Musemon have their own unique menu icon. Those that don’t have a generic menu sprite that calls back to the classic Mario games.

Oof, well, no one ever said the Rockets gave you a good deal. :P And yeah, randomizers will get you normal Pokemon since the data of a lot of normal Pokemon remain untouched. Porygon is one of them.
Ok so I was playing this once and at Celadon City I was being a little cocky and thought you could get a Porygon there, and instead I found something else. Now I assume its impossible to get any kind of normal Pokemon in the game correct? :^)
Correct!
Also if you’re referring to the Porygon at the Game Corner, the reason it still lists it is because I haven’t figured out how to change the options to read the actual prize Pokemon. The code for that NPC is a bit obtuse. Out of curiosity, what did you get instead of the Porygon?

(If I may ask...was the patch to update the game to more recent mechanics difficult to work in? Did it change anything when it came to insisting musemons?)
The Decap patch introduced a few difficulties that I had to work through, the foremost of them being that I needed to do a bunch of finagling to get it to operate correctly with the Gen III Hacking Suite and PGE (Pokemon Game Editor). And when I do get it to work as best it can, the Fairy typing doesn't work properly with either program, so in order to edit Fairy Pokemon and moves I'd have to mess with the game's coding a bit. Most often this involves going into the code and changing a Pokemon's type to fairy by changing the corresponding number in the code manually as opposed to doing it through the editor.Besides that the Decapitalization is a touch inconsistent, but that's all the major problems I can think of off the top of my head.

Still taking questions? Cause I'd like to know if maybe this will happen again some day!
Another Nintendask hack? Probably not. The first one was tough enough to cobble together, between bug testing and rounding up all the sprites and such. I'll probably do one of my own independent projects next, most likely, but that'll probably be a ways off. I'm not even sure if there would be enough participants to get to 150, and I'd feel obligated to either hack Emerald or make a new map, and both bring up their own array of complications.

How are you injecting your own pokemon? I'm not asking how exactly but is there an online tutorial I can follow? The whole process fascinates me
((A fine question! There's enough tools out there that the way hackers put Pokemon into the game can change, so there isn't really a tutorial specific to how I hack Pokemon in. I personally use two tools for "injecting" Pokemon in; Advanced Pokemon Sprite Editor and Gen III Hacking suite. The Advanced Pokemon Sprite Editor is used for inserting sprites into the game while the Hacking Suite allows you to edit all the various details about the Pokemon. The tools are straightforward enough that you should be able to get the hang of them with just a little bit of experimentation, no tutorial needed. Just remember that besides those tools you need a rom to edit (FireRed or Emerald only) and a front and back sprite that are both 64x64 pixels and have the same color palette. If you all have anymore questions, feel free to ask, I like talking shop.))

I’m still having issues with getting the ini to work in the hacking suite, so as a reference to everyone, in the Ini recovery window (just continue when you get an error on loading your patched game), you’ll want to set these values:
TOTAL Number of ‘mons: 412 Number of Moves: 511 Number of Items: 375 Number of Types: 24 Number of Abilities: 156

BTW, in the Gen III hacking suite you’re going to find a file in your folder called PokeRoms. Replace it with this.

I swear to god, Eyerock’s Ancientpower. WHY DOES A LEVEL 14 HAVE THAT.
((If you ask me, that sort of thing is a somewhat minor issue. It’s base 60 power, so the only real problem is the secondary effect. On the flipside of this, I’m aware of…Birdot/Birdetta, I think, learning a lot of weak moves (Air Cutter, etc.) even at really high levels, which is a bit silly.
Aside, most of the move issues I’ve noticed have been of a greater magnitude than “Cinccino can’t learn Thief”, but pretty much it’s just the same deal.
There’s some errors which obviously aren’t intended, but that’s one of the reasons there’s still a version number attached to the game.))

Fun fact time! I gave Brock’s Eyerock Ancient Power (a move he can’t learn normally) because his Special Attack is really bad. This way I could have the player have an epic showdown against a fully evolved behemoth without having Eyerock’s 105 base Attack power overwhelm the player.
As for other movesets... I had to throw together many many many movesets from scratch, and most movesets that were submitted to me I made changes to, so oversights happen. If any of you do want to look through and suggest changes or fixes, I’d recommend using Gen III Hacking Suite to take a look under the hood.

During the Type advantages Teachy TV lesson the game freezes. I was using VisualBoyAdvance-1.8.0-beta3 as my emulator. My  operating system is Windows 8.1. I was using the male character. I barely worked my way into viridian forest, so my experience is still nearly nothing. So far I like the creative designs and the clever references in the pokemon design, however from my very limited experience, invincileaf is horribly lacking in any way to stand up on its own and needs to be babied, but since I only got it to level six I am assuming that this is in part intentional, like as done with many pokemon in the main games.
Oh, Teachy TV. Is there a single hack in existence where you don’t crash the game?
Thanks for the heads up! Believe it or not Teach TV crashing the game is a problem that a lot of the Pokemon hacking community has trouble contending with. Since it’s so unimportant people typically just say to ignore it, so that’s what I’m going to suggest too. I’ll make sure to add it to the known bugs.
As for Invincileaf, it is indeed intended to be weak early game, but I’ll review it again to see if I can’t make some changes. Thanks again!

I am ecstatic to announce the official release of Pokémon FireRed: Nintendask Edition. Since January I’ve been collaborating with a fantastic group of artists, bug testers, and more to do something special; create a Pokémon hack of FireRed where the original ensemble of 150 are replaced by a brand new stable of more than 200 custom Pokémon, all based off the characters (aka muses) of the Nintendask community.
It took a lot of work, and there were many obstacles along the way, but this love letter to the community is finally finished! I hope you all enjoy the game as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together! I can’t even begin to express my thanks to all the people who participated in the project, I could never have done it without all of your help!
Whether you’re a member of Nintendask or you want to play the original FireRed in a brand new way, click on the link above to download the hack!
Features:
More than 200 new Pokémon (over 100 different lines) available in game, with sprites all crafted by artists in the Nintendask Community (check out the Musedex for individual artist credits)
Includes Fairy Types as well as updated type effectiveness
Physical/Special Split
Reusable TM’s
A boatload of abilities and moves from Gens 4-6 are added in
Much of the text has been decapitalized

-butchers fawfuldon some more-
-slowly cries-
I know it sucks having to make it smaller since you lose a lot of detail, but it still looks great! Good job!
