Honestly one of my biggest gripes about season three is the fact the coast guard came to “save the day” which is what caused inho to blow up the island.

Really, this whole time I thought it was implied that the police, military, and government knew about it and either didn’t care, supported it, and/or participated in it.

I mean it is the case in real life that the rich are protected by these groups. Some of these groups would willingly/happily be guards or vips or ya know… the frontman.

In fact, it’s one reason why the message and “realistic ending” of season three didn’t really land for me. It felt so shallow because, why does the coast guard suddenly care? To me, it would have really made the message more powerful and accurate if it had to be the people (aka players/noeul/junho and his team) who ended the games or at least failed but died trying..because the people meant to protect them don’t.

Has anyone talk about how it's very natural for both of them to sleep next to each other ? Like the way they were even silently talking to each other . I don't think They needed to even sleep next to each let alone stick to each other like there's glue on them .

And this isn't something that bothers them , the only thing that bothers Arthur about this was what side he always sleeps on lol . He's the same guy who said he won't be sharing a bed with Merlin ! This is even more intimate than sharing a bed .

I've read some people say that "The reason why Cho Hyun-ju is so loved is because Squid Game didn't force a woke agenda". Let me just say: Only a politically illiterate person thinks that Squid Game is not woke and didn't have a trans rights agenda.

Squid Games has characters that are morally gray, characters that are openly selfish and opportunistic, and a few truly morally good characters. It's no coincidence that Hyun received all the opposite qualities of the antagonists: She's humble, preferably peaceful, kind, empathetic, loyal and resilient. The writers wanted the audience to see her as human and they put her in a female trio 'cause they wanted the audience to see her as a woman.

In a society obsessed with discussing who can and cannot use lady's bathrooms, Squid Game lady's bathroom scene send us a message: What Hyun did in there? She peed, washed her face, looked in the mirror, cared for a woman she just meet and practiced sisterhood.

This scene is a huge contrast to the men's bathroom fight scene, which also reminds us who's statistically more violent: Cis man.

The lack the viewer notices and liked is the absence of a self-affirming discourse in Hyun. Well, she doesn't need one; When she is barred from going to the ladies' room, Geum-ja says "It's okay, she's a woman too". When discussing her physical appearance, Hyun doesn't have to defend that she's beautiful in her own way because Young-mi says "You're beautiful too, Unnie". Hyun has a script that defends her and makes her valuable, but in real life trans people need to fight for themselves.

Squid Game woke agenda is advocate that trans people are people too and sometimes can be the best people out there. Something obvious, but unfortunately necessary today.
