It's ABIS's summer vacation, hosted by Ryuki at his family's old summer home on a small island off the southern coast of Japan. It should be the perfect time- his friends are here, there's no work resposibilities, and nobody trying to remind him of the existential dread living in the back of his mind. It should be fun, relaxing even! But unfortunately for him, that won't be the case- not when a sudden death throws him into a week of endless looping, caught in a maze of tempermental reality. Just what might it take to free everyone from the loop, and will he be able to bear the cost?

potential au/crossover fic in the future someday. maybe. yugioh my old faithful that never really goes away. guys with dead* families and a tendency toward self sacrifice. guy with a desperate sense of justice and need to be a Hero bc of his trauma vs guy who is possessed by a potentially murderous kleptomaniac who'd really just rather Not deal with that. complete with eye symbolism.

*depending on what canon you like for ryou's dad LMAO. dsod i love you even if you contradict everything with that. ygo canon is a mess and i love that for it.

so this might be coming soon. as in probably tomorrow lol. one of the worst things i've done to ryuki (yaaaay <3)

being all relaxed and happy with myself bc I finished posting the current fic and I'm most of the way through my current wip, then my friend comes in with the steel chair and gives me 2 words that spawn another fic idea instantly. im in too deep. i dont even know how exactly i'd want to write it but i Do have almost the entire outline done in my head.

happy birthday ryuki my gift to you is (genuinely unintentionally timed lmao) lifelong trauma!

For as long as he can remember, Kuruto Ryuki has been able to see ghosts. Be it his gift or his burden, it's something for only him to bear. How terrible a blessing, so beautiful a curse.

Time for a new fic! Ryuki can see ghosts. The guy who's really good at coping mechanisms is gonna have a great day. I had a ton of fun playing around a little bit with structure on this one, rather than my typical chapter lengths each chapter will be the story of one particular spirit Ryuki interacts with. If you read, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
