कबीर परमात्मा स्वयं प्रकट होते हैं। किसी मां से जन्म नहीं लेते।

सतयुग में सतसुकृत नाम से, त्रेतायुग में मुनिन्द्र नाम से, द्वापर युग में करूणामय नाम से तथा कलयुग में वास्तविक कविर्देव (कबीर प्रभु) नाम से प्रकट हुए हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त अन्य रूप धारण करके कभी भी प्रकट होकर अपनी लीला करके अंतर्ध्यान ��ो जाते हैं।

एक बार कबीर साहेब मक्का गए ।

तब उन्होंने काबा की और पैर कर लिए । तब एक काजी मुल्लाओं ने कहा की अल्लाह की तरफ पैर करने पर पाप लगेगा तो कबीर साहेब ने कहा की उधर पैर कर दो जिधर अल्लाह न हो । तब काजी ने दूसरी तरफ पैर घुमा दिया तो मक्का भी उधर ही घूम गया । तो काजियों को उनकी गलती का एहसास हुआ ।
