Happy Birthday, Aoba!

「Dear Aoba」was a project launched in 2016, collaborating with 25 artists from 8 countries, namely China, Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Vietnam in celebration of Aoba’s birthday on the 22nd April 2016. The aim of this project is to gather good wishes and blessings directed to Aoba and to shower Aoba with love on his birthday. I am very honoured to be able to organize such a touching and meaningful project. Everyone’s effort brought me to tears :’)

Today, on the 22nd April 2017, one year later, with the permission of participating artists, the digital version of the project will be put up for one week, from 22nd April to 28 April 2017, in conjunction with Aoba’s birthday. Reviving the love everyone has towards Aoba, we’re here, once again, to witness how enduring affection towards Aoba could be – and how beautiful it is to be able to love something in such an extent.

False Alkanet

False Alkanet is a game produced by Nitro+CHiRAL and Digiturbo, released in December of 2010. It was made solely for Japanese Phones and thus there is not a lot of information about this game on the internet. I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what this game is about and I was really curious about it myself, so me and my sketchy japanese skills went through an adventure in the japanese blog world to seek info on False Alkanet haha Here’s what I found out:

False Alkanet’s story takes place in the Taisho period, during the political crisis that would lead to the end of Japan’s oligarchy and the rise of the democratic parties. After all the political turmoil, the Takatori family is finally recovering it’s lost peace. Takatori’s sucessor is aspiring Pianist Yuto, whose piano skills keep evolving along with his plans to study abroad. Everything looks favorable, but things are about to get clouded…

Characters

Takatori Kei, Yuto’s step-brother. Decided to follow Yuto and go study overseas as well, has one-sided feelings he can’t shake off towards his brother (or so I think, idk, the kanjis have like, a lot of strokes and are really hard to read LOL)

Takatori Yuto. Smart, oblivious and probably the kuundere character that plays the piano really well and potentially is the OTP of his step-brother LOL

Tachibana Sakae. The man who tricked the Takatori household chief so he could take over their business. Has a “cats and dogs” like relationship with the Takatori household butler, Kurae Kaoru

Kurae Kaoru. Takatori family’s butler. A loyal man who zeals over the Takatori brothers

REPEATING THAT THIS IS WHAT I UNDERSTOOD WITH MY SKETCHY JAPANESE SKILLS, so there might be something wrong in there :,D People with better japanese knowledge willing to help out, I got the info from this blog here. In case someone reads the original text and notices I wrote something weird, please notify me :)

ps: False Alkanet is the non scientific name of this pretty flower here, a plant from the Boraginaceae family

The same flower we see ornamenting the table on the game’s image above. Since the game’s plot seems to revolve around the the Takatori household and the protagonist is only half Takatori, maybe the title derivates from the fact that he is a false “boraginaceae”, he is a part of the family but has something different about him. But that’s me speculating once again :,D I didn’t even play the game, I just found the title pretty LOL
