Many thoughts and feelings, but first I love this man. Like he’s so dorky, goofy, and adorable. Like he’s always wearing something goofy like the hat and glasses are great. But the arms, the stubble,and the way his arms and chest move as he’s doing it. God he’s so hot. Also the way he is with his family is just so wholesome. A little late but all that just makes me hate that scene even more, like what the fuck do you mean you didn’t at minimum clue in one of the fucking actors on a not so slight change in direction, especially when it comes down to being more physical and laying hands on another. Like I hate the scene regardless because it doesn’t really build to much or have any lasting consequences that it should have. But seriously for the director to not bring both actors in on the idea before making it happen and for Ryan to not tell Oliver about the change is just shitty. No matter how close they are or how much trust they have in each other it comes off badly.

I understand that Eddie showing up to the building collapse was/is supposed to be a "👏👏" moment and in theory it is, but with that fucking kitchen scene and the whole "Idk Buck, I wasn't there," it cheapens it for me.

Like, oh look, guilt stricken silver star military man got to swoop in to save the day and everyone cheers.

I hate that this show has made me dislike Eddie so much. He comes off as a self entitled, spoiled brat who needs to be told he's a hero.

You know what I’m not that surprised (narratively speaking) we didn’t really see Buck opening up to everyone about his grief. Even though Tim or someone said we would, so like we can assume it got cut. Which is annoying but if we didn’t know Buck was gonna open up I’m not entirely surprised he didn’t. You know why? Because Eddie shamed him and accused him of making it about himself when he wasn’t even doing that. So he didn’t even try to talk to people about it. He just put in for a transfer because it’s all he could do because someone made him feel guilty for feeling grief.

Also like what Eddie did with his whole putting on the uniform and going onto a call wouldn’t that be illegal or get him into major trouble. Like he didn’t work for the LAFD at the time. I get they probably would explain it away by saying that they needed volunteers but still he just walked into the site by himself.

At work today I was putting away a thing we sell that’s a pickle in a pouch, and the somewhat inappropriate thought came to my mind. Like these are some hefty pickles, with some girth ya know. So my brain went “yeah this seems about right for Tommy, maybe a bit shorter than him but the girth and heft of it feels right”. Had to stand there for a minute and take in what I just said in my head.

Also that specific pickle pouch was called big papa, so yeah that also fits.

Thinking about the possibility we could be getting an 11 Blocks by Wrabel situation (minus the “I’ve met someone and I think I’m in love” lines) next season if they choose to give us the juicy scenario of Buck living a couple blocks from Tommy (doubt they’ll do that but the idea is juicy).

A sort of follow up to the post about Eddie doing exactly what the fire captain in El Paso was worried about. Inconsiderate ass move Eddie.

I need a short fic or blurb of a story about Eddie still leaving for El Paso and having a brief look at his first day at work there. Maybe a welcome party before shift. And him connecting with fire fighter gabby. Because I really don’t like the idea of what they did in the show of him just fucking over that station with his no warning choice.

I still think it would have been a more interesting choice for Eddie to still go to El Paso to work after that final disaster. Because he could have seen the 118 still functions without him, that leaving wouldn’t hurt them. That he can move on to something new without any worries.

Also I find it quite funny (like in an ironic way, not a haha funny way more of a I can’t help but laugh at this situation) that the fire captain in El Paso’s fear about Eddie taking an opportunity not with them after saying he wouldn’t was right from the start. Like he was about to go back and start that job, but nope turned it down likely after already accepting it. Like Eddie better hope he never runs into that man again, because if I was that captain I’d be annoyed as hell at Eddie.

Rant below the line, like I’d get it if people were angry at people clearly using Ryan and Oliver to generate engagement. But that’s not what people are mad about. Literally saw the dumbest TikTok that sparked this rant.

Seeing some people truly angry and saying that the show baited them with buddie is so dumb. Like if it was about them using Ryan and Oliver for engagement that’d be one thing. But saying, especially after this last batch of promotion, you were baited by Buddie or even queerbaited you weren’t fucking listening.

If you had listened even as far back as after 7x04, you would have understood Buddie wasn’t happening. Ryan immediately went into how Eddie’s straight (though he usually said heterosexual which was just weird) and how he pulled from his real life experiences to do it. And that has continued into this season even before the upfronts or whatever it’s called.

Plus you had the showrunner telling you that you weren’t interpreting the scenes as intended, and Oliver kept saying Eddie is straight and Buck is bi.

But the kicker is at the at the recent promotion you had Oliver saying Buck isn’t into Eddie (about the 8x11 stuff) and Eddie is straight said a million and one times. Like you were told outright it wasn’t happening. Plus the buzzfeed thing once again happened because people knew it’d generate engagement and attention but once again didn’t say anything about buddie.

Like be mad about being used for engagement, that’s understandable because people realized you were easy to bait with stuff. But don’t be mad about a ship that wasn’t happening when you were told it wasn’t happening repeatedly.
