When Runaan isn't responsive to Ethari's excited infodumping about his latest commission, Ethari slowly becomes quieter over the course of the evening. In reality, Runaan has been burning the candle at both ends and is starting to come down with a stress cold.

When Runaan is finally able to communicate this to Ethari, Ethari brightens... and reads a book about rocks aloud because the sound of his voice helps Runaan fall asleep.

I'm just picturing Runaan, absolutely exhausted and buried in tissues and messy hair, falling asleep on Ethari while Ethari reads about his favorite thing to his favorite elf.

So I recently found a tutorial on how to make a touch mark stamp, aka the stamp that metalsmiths use to imprint their maker's mark or text onto a piece, and I decided to make one. Since Ethari is my favorite fictional metalsmith, I decided to try to make what I think his maker's mark might look like.

To me it makes sense that elven craftpeople in TDP would use their tattoos for their maker's mark, this is the design I came up with:

Tried out a few simplified designs but inevitably settled on the most complex one. Very ambitious for a beginner but I accept the risk of failure.

Getting the blank perfectly straight was a job and a half (which I had to do twice since I didn't think things through), but it turned out well enough.

Aaand sketch the design on in sharpie:

Already started on filing the shape in, but it's not far enough along to be worth sharing yet. The hardest part is the lines through the center. I'll reblog when it looks decent.
