WHAT DO YOU MEAN ACADEMIC ARTICLES ON LYCANTHROPY WHAT!? WHERE?! NO NO NO NO

So I'm reading academic articles about werewolves for Reasons, and I've come across this one study describing a possible link between the delusion of lycanthropy with severe depressive disorder, which is very interesting and all, but guys-

They identified eight cases of lycanthropy within a certain area over a twenty year period for the purpose of the study. Seven of eight reported to have changed into dogs (i.e. traditional lycanthropic delusion). And that last one, you might ask?

Well, you see, number eight reported transforming into a cow.

Now as you might imagine, this is quite a rare report. In fact, aside from the biblical account of king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, there is only one other known report of such a case also from Babylon circa AD 1000~ in which Avicenna describes one of his patients "who claimed he was a cow and bellowed like one."

Avicenna apparently told his patient that a butcher was on the way to slaughter him and tied him up. Then he left, returned dressed as a butcher, told the guy he was too lean to be butchered and he had to put on some weight. He untied the guy who then began to happily eat, regained his strength, and was reportedly cured of his delusion.

On an unrelated note, once a month I enjoy a night locked firmly inside my house in which I play Roblox and watch Love is Blind while munching on rare steak and also beets (they taste like the earth and I like that).

Just to be clear

Lately my irl friends have been acting really sus about everything that I do. Like who cares if I stop in the middle of crosswalks to check whether the night orb in the sky is round yet ? So what if I follow the Chinese space launches to the moon to see if we can defeat its evil glow using whatever is on its so called ‘far side’?

Yea I disappear once a month for a day and don’t reply to messages and yea sometimes I whimper a little and sure I like really really like wolves and read a lot of teen wolf fan fiction but that does NOT mean I have turned into a werewolf! Like where the hell are they getting that from?!

I started this blog as a safe space to enjoy my hobbies (god forbid a girl has some) away from my meddling friends and family who just don’t want to see me - as Katy Perry once said - Roar.
