Hopefully for good this time, last month I made it to the busuu A2 final test, and I decided to review for it!!! But then I just didn't :P

So today! I decided to just take it and reached the B1 :D so Im going to keep going! Promise!

Im trying to get back to italian and I think im getting there! The biggest trouble im having is how to make it fun for me? Idk I have to come up with more silly things to do with the language, its getting a bit boring :ppp

hi! long time no see

So today I went to a sculpture 1 day workshop type of thing and it was really cool! the funny looking sofa was a bit of a sucess. Next week I have a big presentation (its more of a test than a assignment) and then I'm done! I'll wach my collegues for the rest of the week, and in the week after that its recess! yesssss

I couldn't be more tired of this never endjng semester, but! basically all my assignments are done (except one due tomorrow.. opss)

will have more time for italian!

relaxed quite a bit which was nice, did very little italian, ate ice cream and read some of my uni readings

second semester has kicked off and i’m back in much more comfortable territory in modern Japanese literature class. assigned reading is a lot, but it goes down much easier in a subject i’ve got more background in.

morning class was canceled, so i had a nice breakfast of toast + hot honey in the morning

went to office hours for my research course to talk about my topic, it was super clarifying and helpful, and i’m excited to dive into it

had a class at noon, which was the discussion section for my sociology class

discussed my topic in my actual research course, and the initial feedback from people in the class was really encouraging, they seemed interested in it, and a few people even started talking about their personal connections to the topic, which is super exciting

went to ballet class (my first one back this semester)!

icky mental health hit me like a truck at the end of the day, so taking it easy and giving myself a treat

friendly reminder that masking in public is an act of love!!

Oltre a gianni schicchi, mi ricordo di un evento sui violoncello che cercava presentare lo instrumento di tanti formi, quindi c'era un momento di opera, ma ho mai visto una opera completa! quella fue la prima volta!

I havent seen that many operas! .𖥔˚

besides gianni schicchi, i remember one event about cello that wanted to present the instrument and many ways, and so there was an opera moment, but I had never seen a full opera before! that was the first time!

Study Strategies

For everyone asking "What does 'playing' with the material even mean when it comes to studying??"

Well, basically when you think about the material in a way that applies to your real life or interests, or that entertains you.

Writing a tumblr post about it (my blog started out as a study tool when I was in nursing school, because I re-wrote what I was learning in fandom/fic terms)

Talking about it or explaining it to a friend that is NOT in your field of study

Trapping your blorbos in a weird situation they can only get out of by learning the material (I once went through a whole scenario in my head about my blorbo getting injected with insulin and his friend having to figure out how long they had to give him sugar before they died to learn insulin onset-peak-duration)

Flash card "war" where 2 or more of your friends bring their flashcards and every time you or a friend puts down a card, the one that gets the answer the closest first wins the cards (google allowed)

Make a comedy routine about the material using only jokes that would be funny if someone understood it

Order a list of facts from least to most interesting- bonus points if you do it with a friend and you both have to agree, bringing your own arguments to the table as to why a particular fact deserves a certain rank

Finding an old textbook on the material at your school's library and figuring out what still holds up to today's knowledge

Find a group of people on the internet that are really interested in what you're studying and get the latest in DiscourseTM

Make the most misleading fact sheet you can make on the subject, with everything you say being technically true

Make a fact sheet that holds up to the reading comprehension of tumblr dot com

Basically anything that reframes studying from "I hate this and it takes up so much time" to "something I was probably going to do anyway for fun, but this time with more [subject]".
