👻looking for a free game to play this spooky season?🎃

hello everyone! we are CRUELHOUSE, two best friends who together made a visual novel called PENTHOS; it is a horror story heavily inspired by everything from old-school slashers to modern creepypastas, and you can play it right now for free. in this game you'll come to meet a diverse cast of characters and discover the mysteries that hide in their sleepy mountain town -- that's about as much as we can tell you without spoilers!

we made this game two years ago, back when we were just graduating from college, with no budget and purely out of love for the genre, and a desire to tell a story that was entirely ours. we're still very proud of our work and would love it if you'd try it out, it's about 4 hours long and can be played on windows, mac or linux. having you try it doesn't just support us, but also the voice actors and composers who graciously agreed to work on this project with us out of a similar passion. (some of whom have gone on to do awesome stuff like genshin impact or honkai star rail! but in my personal opinion their best opinion is in here, nark nark.)
