I’ve been thinking about how Megumi would have defended Junpei if they’d gone to the same school.

Megumi would have beaten these clowns to a pulp.

I also think they would have really bonded over their abilities if Yuji had been able to save Junpei. They could have trained together and shared combat strategies and Megumi would have taught him the importance of close combat.

I just think they would have been good friends and they probably would have enjoyed quiet emo boy sulking together.

These three would have had the best movie nights together. Junpei and Yuji would have forced Megumi to watch all the human earthworm movies against his will (Megumi would secretly get very invested in the plot later on and have a lot of opinions about the franchise). Junpei and Megumi would have both gotten a kick out of Yuji’s impressions. They just would have been a great boy trio.

I miss Junpei and the potential he had. But I guess that’s (one of) the point of the whole series. Life is unpredictable, it isn’t fair, and sometimes it gets cut short before you even get to fully develop as a person.
