Kinda wanna make single muse blogs for Byakuya and Toshiro but like that would be so much effort..... But like single muse blogs just feel right. What do y'all think?

I gotta write about this more, but Byakuya is the type to take relationships very slow and Court just like a noble would. He definitely courted Hisana and showed great affection towards her. He's the type to fall very deeply and very hard in love. So her loss is something that he feels very deeply. If he marries again, it'll be after much thought because Hisana was meant to be his one and only, someone he spent his entire life with.

The air is tense. Everything feels dead. There was no life in this place. The scent of blood, the bodies that lay strewn in that room. Dried blood, black and hardened. They'd been dead for a while. It felt oppressive, lifeless. One look told Toshiro there were no survivors. He didn't speak those words, but steps forward briefly placing fingers upon corpses in a vain attempt to look for a pulse.

❝They've been dead for a while. ❞ He announced the second his fingers touched the dried blood; it flaked off between his fingers. ❝I think I have an idea of what is going on here. ❞

Aizen's death, Rukia's execution . . . all of it seemed so conveniently times. The note AIzen left Momo resurfaced. Perhaps the letter itself was a lie. There was no doubt some of it was true and that someone wanted to use the Sokyoku, but AIzen had blamed it on him.

However, with the knowledge that the sages had been dead far longer ---- even before the invasion ----- something sinister was shaping from within the shadows.

❝We need to go in deeper. I have a feeling all will be revealed if we press forward. Normally no one is allowed deeper inside, however, I believe we can make a case for ourselves with the head captain once we report our findings. Let's go. ❞

The correction's completely ignored as she picked up the pace, the 11th's fourth seat keeping her eyes on him but looking back every few seconds... like eyes were staring into the back of her head...

She'd keep note of that feeling for later, at the moment she stood back when the doors were sliced open. Rolling her eyes and breaking them open further- her steps slowing as the stench of iron got stronger.

Akane's footsteps stopped once they arrived, looking around the scene before them, giving a glance to Toshiro, then pushing past him to investigate properly.

[ Yaijime...where is Kaguya and Avira's grandfather...? ]

"...Shit. Start looking for survivors, or anything-" She didn't even bother to give him a second look as she went deeper into the room. Fingers grazing over the different pedestals of Central 46, eyes narrowed.

"...Captain Hitsugaya..." The tone of her voice took on something different- unfamiliar with her... uncertainty, wariness... an edge of anger and an underlying note of fear. Her breath beginning to trembling in time with her voice.

"forget what I said...we have a bigger problem than that."

While I do not normally agree with those rowdy undisciplined shinigami --- I can agree that in this case, he made his choice and failed. He chose to seek battle on his own. His price is death. No one wanted to see Rukia alive more than he. Rukia was the only thing that remained in this world which reminded him of Hisana. His promise to her, his promise to his parents before their graves ----- they were in conflict. He was in conflict. For the first time in his life, he was conflicted as to if he should follow his duty or his heart.

Rather than face the conflict in his own heart, he doubled down. His hand resting upon the hilt of Senbonzakura. Its familiar wait a comfort. If anyone understood his heart, it was his own zanpakuto. His heart, that was fragile, far more fragile than he cared to admit. Like the very petals he used in battle, he was equally as beautiful as he was deadly and guarded.

If he even cared to tell her his reason, just like many below him, she'd not understand. It was pointless to continue on. He turns his back to her.

❝I trust you to learn the error of your ways and never speak disrespectfully to me a gain ---- me, both a captain and a noble far above the likes of you. ❞

TO FALL IN BATTLE MEANS death? Doesn’t matter if this is a war. When did they start letting their own die over losing a mission? Losses were important to grow, to learn. It sounded like impossible expectations to her.

“Resign? Never,” she says, with a shake of her head. Was this his way of playing the role he might deserve? No…

Either way, she didn’t like it. Since when did they supposed to just blindly accept things?

“Did the definition of our duties change? It never said that we should pay the price of a failed mission.” Narrowed eyes stares straight at him, looking up at him.

“I do not wish to be jailed at all or dismissed.” She remarks, “If Lieutenant Abarai does get medical attention, I’ll let this go.”

A cage wouldn’t be able to hold him down alone, that she knows at the very least. She’s smart enough to know that.

She can tell he was hard to read but she still couldn’t believe he was willing to let his sister go.

She didn’t want Rukia to die either. She got to know her a little while she was in the 13th before she was transferred to the 1st. She hated this too.

❝I'm not tiny. That's Captain Hitsugaya to you. ❞ He said placing a hand on the door and feeling no life from it. The general atmosphere seemed cold and lifeless. His hair stood on end as he took his sword and sliced through the door to gain access to the chamber. ❝Something is wrong here. Let's go. ❞

Toshiro easily keeps pace as the enter the darkened chambers of the sages. Every instinct told him something was amiss.

❝Hinamori should be safe back in the barracks recovering. Now isn't the time to be worried about her. There's something going on here and we have to get to the bottom of it. ❞

He picked up the pace as they pushed deeper into the chambers. After a moment he steps foot into the central chambers and into a horror scene. A gasp is caught in his throat as he threw a look behind him to ensure Akane was following.

❝This is . . . horrific. ❞

Needless to say this wasn't the time, especially being outside the doors of Central 46- with the chaos outside the chambers... Akane was more focused on getting this mess resolved than fighting among her fellow soul reapers.

But she fell silent as they walked, her gaze looking around the halls until she spoke up once more.

"I heard about Lieutenant Hinamori." She commented, "...how is she doing now?"

A pointless question, but it was one to ask nonetheless... she knew the lieutenant was in a frenzy and in her head after Aizen was killed. And on any other day, she would care less, right now? They didn't need to be split apart...

especially when the smell of iron danced on the air.

"...we need to move faster, I smell blood. Talk and walk, Captain."

Can I just talk about the fact that Rukia now calls him "Byakuya" and with no honorifics which demonstrates the fact that post SS arc they're a lot closer as siblings? Prior to SS arc she called him Nii-sama. Which is way more formal than just his given name. Now she's just calling him straight up by his name and he doesn't even seem bothered by it. I LOVE THEM YOUR HONOR!
