sam reid is the best lestat we have, because you can clearly see how much lestat means to him. it’s quite impressive because, to play lestat, sam:

- dyed his hair a lighter shade

- wore acrylic nails for 6 months

- shaved his chest

- got in shape

- grew out his hair

- studied cats for lestat’s movement style

- developed a certain walk completely different from his own

- studied french

- studied italian

- took dog training lessons

- took dancing lessons

- took singing lessons

- took piano lessons

- re-read all vampire chronicles again and again.

i think “memory is a monster” is a great theme they chose for the show, because that way they can justify all the retconing anne did for the most random shit throughout the series
