What type of dance do you do? And what are your favorite things about dancing in general?

What type of dance do you do? I do Swing (east, west and now lindy!! Next month I'll learn Charleston) Blues, Waltz, and Belly Dance mainly. I love Contra dance but I don't do that as often. And I took one class on Flamenco dance like 4 years ago? And then of course the wild dancing that has no name but makes you and everyone around you laugh.what are your favorite things about dancing in general? So many things. I love belly dance for the community of women I always find when I go to classes. There's something about dancing with women of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds, where we are dancing to make *ourselves* feel good about our body and encouraging each other. It is so uplifting and confidence boosting. I love blues because I really love how it's a style of dance where two people are really close together physically but it's not a sexual thing. I think it's really important to have more physical human connection without a sense of commitment or expectations of something else and I think it's usually is an awkward/taboo thing in our culture to be so close to someone who isn't your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner. Same applies to swing, I love holding hands with strangers, being twirled about and having a great time and sharing those moments of delight and fun with someone I might not know at first. I absolutely love dancing.
