Cafe-cashier-guy cured my indecisiveness (for one meal, but still)
Story time:
I am very indecisive— especially when it comes to food. A couple days ago I walked up to order some breakfast at a small cafe at my school. This time, after thinking way ahead, I had decided what I wanted: a chocolate chip scone, or so I thought. As soon as the guy working asked me what I wanted I saw IT, a beautiful slice of golden, soft pumpkin bread calling my name. But I wanted a scone. Or did I want pumpkin bread. I had no idea. I stood there in silence, unsure of how to answer. Then I did what I’m also excellent at and shared all my frustrations with this complete stranger. I already knew what to expect, I’ve gotten it a thousand times before, a roll of the eyes, a look around to see if there was anyone behind me, or sometimes when they’re nice “either choice is good!” But no. This guy blew my mind. He narrowed his eyes, pulled up his hands in front of him, fist over palm, and said “I’ll rock-paper-shoot you.” I was very confused. “What?” I asked. “If I win you get the pumpkin bread, if you win you get the scone.” He won. I got the pumpkin bread and the widest smile, lasting me the whole day— or at least until I had to do homework. Thank you cafe-cashier-guy for helping me make a decision, not just rushing me, or brushing me off. You’re the realest. 💛
