How is it that who are "against politics" and "just want everyone to get along" somehow don't see that wanting everyone to be kind and respectful to each other is an inherently political belief?

And like, I don't mean it in the sense that like, its inherently political to believe everyone can do that, or whatever.

If that's your knee-jerk reaction, that's fair, because its mine, too. Immediately the first thing that jumps out at me when people post things like that is that they are 1) privileged and 2) ignorant to the knowledge of what each party stands for, because as we all know, there is a significant political party whose entire focus hinges on wanting to invalidate, destroy, and kill certain people.

But I actually mean that wanting everyone to be kind and respect one another is a leftist political belief. Left wingers are the ones who want everyone, each group of people, to be treated with kindness and respect regardless of whether they have things in common. Leftists are the ones who want everyone from every religion, race, sexuality, gender, disability, etc. To all be treated with kindness and respect.

This is not an apolitical belief (not that anything can be apolitical anyhow)

i really hate coming out but still want my extended family to know, so my mother took it upon herself to invent the game “guess which one of my kids is gay.”

"donate to gaza" "humanitarian aid to gaza" "raise money for gaza" and egypt, gaza's neighbor that has the only border through which aid can get through, cannot currently get aid through to gaza because israel is refusing to let the trucks pass. the gate was supposed to open three hours ago in a deal struck between egypt and the US to let foreign gaza nationals out and humanitarian aid in. now israel is denying it. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement: "There is currently no truce and humanitarian aid in Gaza in exchange for getting foreigners out." and this is after israel bombed the border crossing three times in the past week. this is the reality that's happening right now. the tonnes of aid that countries are donating, the money the EU is promising, all of this is NOT GETTING THROUGH TO GAZA. if egyptians cannot get through to gaza, nobody can!!!!! the only fucking way this happens is through international pressure to hold israel accountable and that is currently not happening!!!

this is genocide. israel is a fascist state with genocidal maniacs in charge, and they want gazans obliterated, they want gaza gone. this is genocide happening right in front of us. and the entire first world has sanctioned it.
