The cherry on top of this is the fact that Coriolanus was genuinely the main reason why their relationship didn't work out and his narcissistic/self-loving ass couldn't handle that fact, so he spent sixty-four years spinning it so Lucy Gray bore all the blame.

Because he knew, buried deep down beneath his self-obsessive tendencies, that he was always going to be their downfall. CORIOLANUS FULLY USED LUCY GRAY'S GIFTS TO BENEFIT HIMSELF, USED THE MUTUAL ATTRACTION BETWEEN THEM TO INFLUENCE HER AND USE HER TO GET RID OF THE OTHER TRIBUTES (the obstacles in his path to greatness-), THE VERY SAME WAY THAT JASON DID WITH MEDEA WHEN HE USED HER AFFECTION FOR HIM TO CONVINCE HER TO KILL HER FATHER AND USED HER SKILLS AS A SORCERESS TO FURTHER HIS OWN ENDS, EVENTUALLY LEADING HIM TO THE GOLDEN FLEECE THAT MADE HIM A HERO IN THE EYES OF OTHERS!

HE ALSO SHOWED THE SAME LEVEL OF BARELY HIDDEN DISDAIN FOR LUCY GRAY'S HISTORY, HER BACKGROUND, IN THE SAME WAYTHAT JASON DID FOR MEDEA'S! SEEING HER AS LESSER THAN AND TRYING HIS BEST TO PUSH HER TO MEET HIS STANDARDS TO NO AVAIL AND TOSSING HER ASIDE WHEN THE NEXT BEST OPTION TO RAISE HIS STATUS CAME ALONG. (e.g Jason attempting to marry a princess after fathering two children with Medea, Coriolanus using the jabberjay to betray Sejanus-)

AND, LIKE JASON, HAD THE NERVE TO SPURN AND VILIFY HER WHEN SHE USED THE VERY GIFTS/TALENTS, THAT HE MANIPULATED HER INTO USING TO ELEVATE HIM IN SOCIETY, AGAINST HIM AFTER TREATING HER LIKE CANNON FODDER WHEN HE FELT HIS OWN WELL-BEING WAS ON THE LINE.

AND THEN SPENT THE REST OF HIS LIFE MAKING HER OUT TO BE THE VILLAIN OF THEIR STORY TO ANYONE WHO WOULD LISTEN, JUST AS JASON AND FUTURE HISTORIANS EVENTUALLY DID TO MEDEA'S LEGACY AS A RESULT OF HER REACTION IN THE WAKE OF JASON'S BETRAYAL, WHEN ALL LUCY GRAY EVER DID TO CORIOLANUS WAS BE WHO SHE THOUGHT HE NEEDED HER TO BE; HERSELF.

So if Katniss and Peeta are Penelope and Odysseus

And Haymitch and Lenore Dove are Orpheus and Eyuridice

Then that makes Coriolanus Snow and Lucy Gray Jason and Medea

He 100% would though! 😂 Tolerance going in can be VERY different to tolerance going out lmaooo

We do have some canon evidence of his food preferences with how he almost constantly drinks sweetmilk, which has a VERY strong dose of sweetness and star anise infusions, and that just kind of confirms (to me at the very least 🤷🏽‍♀️) that Viktor has a preference for really strong flavours in what he eats.

Now that definitely doesn't always correlate to spice tolerance but in my personal experience as someone who has a concerning love for spicy and sweet things, having a sweet tooth + spice tolerance tend to go hand in hand 😂

Idk what it is but anytime I see the headcanon or assumption that Viktor couldn't handle spice/seasoning, I'm just like;

That man grew up in ZAUN. Not only that, he was growing up in Zaun when it was LEAGUES worse than what we had seen in the show. And we already know from Jericho's stall that food in the Undercity had to be seasoned or handled very creatively to be any kind of palatable. Not to mention most if not all the inhabitants worked in the mines, a working environment that very often left people with dampened taste buds so heavily seasoned foods were a must.

That plus the fact that the man canonically has a MASSIVE sweet tooth really just confirms to me that he would fully be able to handle seasonings/spices just fine. Maybe even better than Jayce can if we're being honest-
