Avast is a popular anti-virus software manufacturer with apps like AVAST Antivirus Pro and Avast Ultimate that strive to protect your PC from a variety of threats. Unfortunately, there are some errors that can occur with these apps. [ux_image id="3058"] [gap height="60px"] The “UI failed to load” error is one of these frustrating problems. It happens when the software fails to load the user interface for your Avast app. This may happen for a lot of different reasons. The antivirus software may be disabled, or something happened during an update or installation. When this issue arises, you may see an error message such as “UI Failed to load. This is really embarrassing. AV Service is not responding.” or “Your protection is running, but the UI is having a really bad day.” Depending on which message you get, your PC may be in danger because Avast isn’t able to load the necessary files to protect you. What causes the “Avast UI failed to load” error? There can be different causes for this error to show up on your device. Luckily, all of them can be fixed by some troubleshooting! After reviewing user reports and Avast’s help desk, we’ve found that the most common cause for the “UI failed to load” error in Avast apps is: Incorrect Windows Services configuration Avast is being blocked by another third-party app A recent Windows Update failed to configure Avast Missing or corrupted files in your Avast software Remote Access Services aren’t running on your computer Things such as these can cause the Avast UI not to start correctly on your machine. If you have this problem, here's how you fix it! Avast UI Failed to Load? 5 Ways to Fix Restart Remote Desktop Services. Avast Antivirus requires Remote Desktop Services to function in Windows 10. Restart Avast Antivirus Service. Update or Repair Avast.  Remove and Reinstall Avast. Update Windows 10. Let's look at them in detail below! Solved: UI failed to load in Avast apps Here are all the working solutions to resolve the “UI failed to load” error in Avast antivirus and internet security programs. Method 1. Restart the Avast application The easiest thing you can do is simply restart your Avast app. This will initialize the UI again and may succeed in loading it. All you have to do is completely exit out of the software following the instructions below, and then launch it again. Right-click on an empty space in your taskbar and choose Task Manager from the context menu. Stay on the Processes tab. Scroll down until you see any Avast processes in the active list, and then select it by clicking on it once. After selecting the Avast process that’s giving you the error, click on the End task button. This is going to quit the process entirely. Make sure to repeat these steps for all running Minecraft processes. After terminating all Avast processes, try to launch the application again and see if the UI can successfully load. Method 2. Enable the Remote Desktop Services in Windows In Windows 10, Avast apps can't function unless Remote Desktop Services are configured to run. If your computer doesn’t have this service enabled at startup and you don't know how to start it automatically, then read ahead! Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard. This is going to bring up the Run utility. Type in services.msc and click on the OK button. This is going to launch the Services window, which might take a few seconds to fully load. Right-click on the Remote Desktop Services service, and then choose Properties from the context menu. Click on whatever option is selected next to the Startup type section. From the drop-down menu, make sure that Automatic is selected. If the service isn’t running, you’ll see the text “Service status: Stopped” displayed in this window. Click on the Start button to ensure that it’s running. Wait for the service to successfully start up. When you’re done configuring the service, click on the Apply button, and then exit by clicking OK. You should be back at the list of services. Close the Services window and try to open your Avast application again. Method 3. Update your Avast software Many times, a simple app update can fix this error. Luckily, you can update Avast apps easily without having to redownload the app — which  is also an option, if you can’t access the interface at all. Here’s how to update Avast Antivirus, and other Avast applications that offer updates to users: Press the Windows + X keys at the same time, and then choose Apps and Features from the context menu. Locate Avast Antivirus, or any other Avast app that’s giving you the UI failure error, and then click on it. From the available options, click on the Uninstall button. Click the Update button and wait for the software to find and download any new updates. It’ll automatically install the latest version, which may take several minutes depending on your configuration. When the repair process is complete, try to launch the Avast app you’ve been having issues with. It’s possible that updating your Avast software this way fixes any corrupt or missing installation files, which restores the UI. However, if you’re still running into the same problem, continue reading!   [title style="center" text="visit our category" color="rgb(247, 4, 4)"] [ux_product_categories style="overlay" slider_nav_style="simple" slider_nav_position="outside" image_height="100%" image_radius="100" image_overlay="rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.19)" image_hover="overlay-remove-50" image_hover_alt="zoom" text_pos="middle" text_size="large" text_hover="bounce"] [ux_products width="full-width" slider_nav_style="circle" slider_nav_position="outside" slider_bullets="true" auto_slide="2000" show_add_to_cart="0" show_quick_view="0" ids="2097,2950,2163,2095"] [gap height="60px"] Method 4. Repair corrupted program files If simply updating your Avast software wasn’t enough to solve the UI problem, you can try to repair it. This process is quick and easy, and completely automated by Avast’s installation helper! Press the Windows + X keys at the same time, and then choose Apps and Features from the context menu. Locate Avast Antivirus, or any other Avast app that’s giving you the UI failure error, and then click on it. From the available options, click on the Uninstall button. Click the Repair button to begin the repair process of your Avast software. An authorization alert may come up on the screen. Click Yes to start the repair process of your Avast application. Wait for the repair process to finish. You should see the message “The product was successfully updated.” when you finish repairing. After the repair is finished, click Done and try to relaunch the Avast application. It’s possible that you’ll no longer see the UI failed error. Method 5. Uninstall other antivirus software Still no luck? Don’t give up! There’s one more thing you can try. If you have other antivirus applications on your computer, other than Windows Defender, you might run into conflicts. These conflicts can eventually cause the Avast UI to fail to load, as it might get blocked by another antivirus software. If you uninstall all other third-party antiviruses, it’s possible that Avast will start working along with its user interface. Press the Windows + X keys at the same time, and then choose Apps and Features from the context menu. Scroll in your app list until you see another third-party antivirus application. When you find one, select it and then click Uninstall > Uninstall. Many antivirus solutions have their own uninstaller. Follow any on-screen instructions to completely remove the app from your device, including any user configuration files and residual data. After uninstalling all other antivirus applications, restart your computer and try using Avast again.

Blu-ray discs are a popular storage medium for high definition video and Blu-ray players have been in the market for years. Blu-rays offer several advantages over DVDs, which include sharper images and better sound quality. However, Blu-ray discs may cause an error in the popular VLC media player due to certain technicalities. In this article, we will explore 3 fixes for the “This Blu-ray disc needs a library for AACS decoding, and your system does not have it.” error message in VLC media player and provide you with workarounds to make it possible to play Blu-ray discs without any hiccups! These fixes are for Windows 10, Windows 8, and 8.1, and Windows 10 What causes the “Blu-ray disc needs a library" error? We looked into the error at hand, as well as some of the techniques that users in a similar scenario have used to successfully fix the error message. According to our findings, there are a few frequent circumstances that can result in this error notice. Protected Blu-ray discs — Majority of commercial Blu-ray disks are secured with AACS and BD+ for protection purposes. Installing the libaacs (instead of the standard libbluray library) is necessary in order for VLC to play encrypted media. Missing KeyDB.cfg file — Another typical reason for Blu-ray playback failure is a missing KeyDB.cfg file on your PC. The libaacs library requires this file in order to play media. Outdated VLC player — The VLC media player is an open source media player with several forks that are not signed by the creators. Many updates come out for the player, and it’s possible that you’re using a version with a known bug that causes the error with Blu-ray playback. Corrupt media — If the media on your Blu-ray disc is corrupted, no media player will be able to play it including VLC. If you're having trouble resolving the “This Blu-ray disc needs a library for AACS decoding, and your system does not have it.” error message, this article will walk you through numerous procedures that other people in a similar position have taken to solve the problem. How to fix the “Blu-ray disc needs a library” error in VLC media player A handful of users who were having trouble with Blu-rays and the VLC media player were able to play their disks by adding certain AAC library files manually. There are other solutions as well, but this will work in most scenarios! However, it’s also possible that your file is corrupt or cannot be played on any player, not just VLC's own built-in one. Learn how to check for corruption and what you can do to restore your media. [gap height="60px"] [title style="center" text="best selling products" color="rgb(247, 4, 4)"] [row label="Newsletter" style="collapse" width="full-width"] [col span__sm="12"] [best_selling_products per_page="4"] [/col] [/row] [gap height="60px"]   Method 1. Manually add libraries files to AACS This method is the one that works for most people. We recommend not skipping it and completing all the steps accurately to have the best chance at troubleshooting the “This Blu-ray disc needs a library for AACS decoding” problem in VLC player. Warning: The steps below will need you to download files from a website that does not have an SSL certificate. Download the files at your own risk. Visit this website in any browser of your choice. You might be getting a warning such as “Your connection isn't private”. In most browsers, you can click on advanced options to continue connection to the website anyway. First, click on the “get the file” link underneath the Keys database section. This is going to download the necessary KeyDB.cfg file to your computer. Once again, you may receive a warning about a potentially unsafe file. If this happens, click on the More options icon and choose to keep the file. We ran several tests to ensure this file is safe for download as of October, 2021. Next, click on the download link associated with your system version under the AACS Dynamic Library section. For example, if you’re running a 64-bit version of Windows, you need to click on the “that file” link in the second line. Navigate to your AppData folder: Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to bring up the Run utility. Type in “C:UsersYour usernameAppData” without the quotation marks, and hit Enter. Make sure to replace “Your username” with your local account name. Alternatively, open the File Explorer with the Windows + E keyboard shortcut, and then navigate to This PC > C: > Users > Your username > AppData. Open the Roaming folder. Right-click on any empty space and click on the New folder option from the context menu. Name the folder “aacs” and open it after creation. Open the newly created “aacs” folder, and then drag the KeyDB.cfg file you downloaded into the folder. By default, you should be able to locate this file in your Downloads folder. Next, navigate to the installation folder for VLC media player. By default, you can find it in one of these two locations: C:Program FilesVideoLANVLC C:Program Files(x86)VideoLANVLC Drag the libaacs.dll file you downloaded into the folder. By default, you should be able to locate this file in your Downloads folder. After that, open the VLC media player and try to play the Blu-ray disc that caused your previous error message to show up. If you've completed the steps successfully, you should be able to open the disc and access its contents. [title style="center" text="visit our category" color="rgb(247, 4, 4)"] [ux_product_categories style="overlay" slider_nav_style="simple" slider_nav_position="outside" image_height="100%" image_radius="100" image_overlay="rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.19)" image_hover="overlay-remove-50" image_hover_alt="zoom" text_pos="middle" text_size="large" text_hover="bounce"] [divider align="center" width="560px"] Method 2. Update VLC media player to the latest version Some users recommend you to update the VLC media player to the latest version. By applying an update, you may get access to the latest bug fixes, new features, and improvements to the application. This could easily solve the “This Blu-ray disc needs a library for AACS decoding” error, especially if you haven’t updated the software in a long time. Open the VLC media player application. Using the header menu, click on Help > Check for updates in the context menu. If there is a new version of the application available, you should receive a message similar to this:“A new version of VLC (X.X.X) is available.VideoLAN and the VLC development team present VLC X.0 “Vetinari”.VLC X.0 is a major update to VLC, introducing hardware decoding by default, allowing 4K with low-cpu usage (and 8K on recent machines), supporting HDR and 360 video. It also improves audio passthrough, allows streaming to ChromeCast, Blu-rays and local network drive browsing.Do you want to download it?” Click Yes to start downloading the update. A stable connection to the internet is necessary in order to download the update without any missing files or errors. VLC media player will start to download the necessary files to install the update. Once the download process is complete, you’ll see the “The new version was successfully downloaded. Do you want to close VLC and install it now?” dialogue box. Click Install. Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade VLC using previous settings. Wait for the wizard to install the newest version of VLC media player, and then try to open the problematic Blu-ray file. Method 3. Check if your files are corrupt It’s scary to think about, but there’s a possibility that the media content on your Blu-ray disc is corrupted. If this were to happen, you wouldn’t be able to access the media stored on the disc anymore, with possibly no way of recovery. To test if your file is in-tact, we recommend first using a different media player application for your version of Windows. You can try something like Potplayer or MPC-BE which are both great alternatives to the VLC media player. Are you still experiencing a similar Blu-ray problem with other media players? Try inserting your disc to a different machine (another PC, laptop or Mac) and see if it’s able to play the media. If you still get the same or similar errors, there’s a high possibility your file is corrupt.

Taskbar not hiding in fullscreen mode in Windows 11/10? Don’t worry, you can turn this around! [ux_image id="3049"] Windowa 10 and Windows 11 both include an immersive full-screen mode that makes it easy to use your PC without having to see the taskbar. It's great for watching videos, playing games, or just reading a book. You can even use it to remove distractions and declutter your screen while working. When you enter this mode, the taskbar should hide automatically. The taskbar can be set to automatically hide in fullscreen mode. It will always stay out of the way when you need space on the screen for whatever reason. Need something? Just hover over your screen's bottom area with your mouse cursor to bring back up! Solved: Windows 10/11 taskbar showing in fullscreen Some users may struggle with the Windows 10 or Windows 11 taskbar not hiding when in fullscreen. Here are the best working solutions for this issue. Method 1. Dismiss any app notifications If an application running on your system received a notification, it may stop the taskbar from hiding even in fullscreen mode. This is a feature to help you notice important notifications even if the taskbar isn’t in view. You can fix this by simply dismissing these notifications or turning them off for that app permanently. Some apps such as Discord and Skype offer "Do Not Disturb" modes so you don't get distracted while gaming or watching videos. You can also turn this on to ensure the taskbar doesn’t pop up when you’re in fullscreen mode. Method 2. Restart the Windows Explorer Sometimes, Windows Explorer runs into an issue that may cause some strange things to happen to your system. This could be the underlying cause for the taskbar not disappearing in fullscreen. Luckily, a restart is enough to solve this. Right-click on an empty space in your taskbar and select the Task Manager from the context menu. If your Task Manager is in compact mode, make sure to click the More details button. Stay in the default Processes tab and click on the Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) to select it. Click on the now visible Restart button in the bottom-right of the window, and then wait for the Windows Explorer to restart. Your taskbar, windows, and desktop may temporarily disappear — this is normal. When everything is loaded back up, you’ll be able to test if the taskbar has been fixed. We also recommend restarting your system. Method 3. Disable taskbar locking In Windows, you can lock and unlock the taskbar to prevent it from being moved or resized on accident. When this option is enabled on your computer, there are some side effects that may occur, such as the taskbar showing up even in fullscreen mode. To make sure this doesn’t happen, unlock the taskbar. Right-click on any empty space in the taskbar to bring up the context menu. Make sure that the Lock the taskbar option is not enabled. If it is, click on it once to turn it off and unlock the taskbar. Check if you’re able to go fullscreen mode without the taskbar appearing on the screen. Method 4. Turn off visual effects If you find that your taskbar is stuck or not responding normally, it could be due to Windows' baked-in visual effects. This can sometimes conflict with applications and prevent your system from working as expected — which includes the taskbar too! Turning these visual enhancements off may help you with taskbar problems. Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen to bring up the Start menu. Choose Settings, or alternatively use the Windows + I shortcut. Here, use the search bar located on top of the window and look up “performance”. Select Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows from the drop-down menu. A new window should pop up on the screen. Stay on the default tab, and select Adjust for best performance from the available presets. Alternatively, you can pick and choose your own settings and turn off any visual enhancements you don’t want to use. Click Apply, and then click on the OK button to close the window. You should be able to tell the difference right away! Check if the taskbar is functioning as you’d expect after making this changes [title style="center" text="visit our category" color="rgb(247, 4, 4)"] [ux_product_categories style="overlay" slider_nav_style="simple" slider_nav_position="outside" image_height="100%" image_radius="100" image_overlay="rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.19)" image_hover="overlay-remove-50" image_hover_alt="zoom" text_pos="middle" text_size="large" text_hover="bounce"] [gap height="60px"] Method 5. Repair corrupt system files Corrupt system files are the most common cause of this error. You can easily restore all damaged files with a utility found in Windows itself, called the System File Checker; SFC scan for short. This tool checks for all of your system files takes note of any missing or corrupted ones and replaces them with the default unaltered files. By running the SFC scan, you’ll restore all possibly corrupt or missing system files on your device, which may lead to fixing the taskbar. Open the search bar in your taskbar by clicking on the magnifying glass icon. You can also bring it up with the Windows + S keyboard shortcut. Type Command Prompt in the search box. When you see it in the results, right-click on it and choose Run as Administrator. If you're using a local account that doesn't have administrator permissions, click here first. When prompted by the User Account Control (UAC), click Yes to allow the app to launch with administrative permissions. Type in the following command and press Enter to execute it: sfc /scannow Wait for the System File Checker to finish scanning your computer. In the case of a discrepancy, the utility will restore system files and fix all errors related to them. [title style="center" text="best selling products" color="rgb(247, 4, 4)"] [best_selling_products per_page="4"] [gap height="60px"] Method 6. Run the DISM command You can identify and repair faulty system files through the SFC scan, but you can also use the DISM tool to target other areas of your device that may store corrupt files. The DISM tool also allows you to identify and fix corruption issues with your system by simply running commands in the Command Prompt application. It checks for corruption system-wide, and automatically attempts to restore damaged or missing files. Open the search bar in your taskbar (or use the Windows + S keyboard shortcut) and look up Command Prompt. Select Run as administrator and click Yes to allow the app to launch with administrative permissions. Next, you need to execute a command to fix any issues found on your system. Simply type in the following line and press Enter: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth After you execute the command, wait for the process to finish. Upon completion, close the Command Prompt window and restart your device to see if the taskbar has been fixed. Method 7. Update your system An update to your operating system may fix many underlying issues, even with your taskbar. Download the latest version of Windows and see if the problem is fixed. Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen to bring up the Start menu. Choose Settings, or use the Windows + I shortcut. Click on the Update & Security tile. This is where you can find most of your Windows Update settings and choose when to receive updates. Make sure to stay on the default Windows Update tab. Click on the Check for updates option and wait for Windows to find available updates. If you see any updates displayed, click on the View all optional updates link to see and install them. When Windows finds a new update, click on the Install option. Wait for Windows to download and apply the necessary updates.

Type in “firewall.cpl” (without the quotation marks) and click on the OK button. Click on the Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off link, located on the left side of the window. Make sure that you select the “Turn off...” option for both Private network settings and Public network settings. Click OK and restart your computer. Check if you’re able to open the Spotify app after disabling the firewall. Method 8. Temporarily disable your antivirus app Antivirus applications can block some apps and services from running. You can test if the antivirus you’re using at the moment is causing Spotify problems by disabling it. Right-click on an empty space in your taskbar and choose Task Manager from the context menu. Switch to the Start-up tab using the header menu located at the top of the window. Here, find your antivirus application from the list and select it by clicking on it once. Click on the Disable button now visible in the bottom-right of the window. This will disable the application from launching when you start your device. Restart your computer and try opening Spotify. Method 9. Troubleshoot Windows Store apps Microsoft introduced a variety of ways to solve Windows issues. The built-in troubleshooters can help you fix your Spotify not opening. The Windows Store Apps troubleshooter will attempt to resolve any problems related or unrelated to the software. Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left of your screen to bring up the Start menu. Choose Settings, or alternatively use the Windows + I shortcut. Click on the Update & Security tile. This is where you can find most of your built-in troubleshooters. Switch to the Troubleshoot tab using the left-side pane. Here, you should be able to see a troubleshooter titled Windows Store Apps. Click on the Run the troubleshooter button. Wait for the troubleshooter to scan your device and identify any issues. If you don’t share full diagnostic data to Microsoft, click on the Additional troubleshooters link and locate the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter there. Bear in mind that this troubleshooter is not perfect, which is why we suggest trying it last. It might not detect any issues, but that doesn't mean our other methods can't fix your Spotify. Method 10. Perform a clean reinstall of Spotify If none of the solutions worked so far, try to remove Spotify from your computer and install a clean copy. Follow the steps below to completely remove your Spotify installation and residual files. Press the Windows + X keys at the same time, and then choose Apps and Features from the context menu. Locate Spotify, and then click on Uninstall > Uninstall. Wait for Windows to remove the application from your computer. Next, press the Windows + E keys to bring up a File Explorer window. Right-click on any of the selected files, and then choose Delete from the context menu. Download and install the latest version of Spotify from the website or from the Microsoft Store. Method 11. Install a different version of Spotify Before getting in touch with Spotify support, download a different version of the app. If you're currently using the Windows Store version, download the desktop app, and vice versa. Here are the official Spotify download links: Download the dedicated desktop app from Spotify for Windows Download the Microsoft Store version of Spotify for Windows After downloading the application, install it and see if you’re able to open Spotify.
