THEY CAN'T EVEN GET THE RUDBOYS RIGHT. OH MY GOD. Like the ONLY woman that looks different from who she is replacing is Mia, who just. Never checks in. Steven and Mclooy both look NOTHING like themselves, and Arnold is a goddamn elephant. Plus, Roman is missing his nose, one of his defining features. This is not a problem with any of the women. This is making me crazy.

YES there is definitely something being hinted at here!

I also have to say I find it endlessly funny that most of the male characters are like. Meant to be revolting and creepy and stuff. And then the ladies are just incredibly attractive. Like just aesthetically. They have really nice, pleasing designs that flow well and are nice to look at. This is evidence the doorman like woman *a doppleganger kills me*

No you’re onto something here… with all the female designs being much more detailed than the male ones, implying that perhaps the doorman remembers the women in more detail… hmmm…

A very important thing to note: Margarette sewed The dOOrman a dog stuffie and they named it Patches and it lives on their desk. And it makes them feel better.

They also get REALLY happy when seeing Margarette they do little grabbies at her and she'll do it back. Which makes finding dopples really easy because they do NOT do the grabbies. So hence it is NOT the wife.

I do have to say. Nightmare Mode for TNMN isn't my favorite to play, mostly because it's really mean to me and I like playing games not getting frustrated at games. But I do like theorizing about it. There's some interesting symbolism in there that I don't know if it was intentional or not, I kinda hope that it was on purpose because like. The game takes place in 1955 and the main plot is trying to find intruders. You simply cannot have a story like that without touching on the bigotry of the ear and having the Nightmare neighbours being how the neighbours are perceived by others. And the doorman is having the worst intrusive thought night of their life. You see it's because the horror is from the fact that you can't trust your neighbours, you can't trust the D.D.D., you can't trust yourself.

But yeah that's why in Nightmare Mode the D.D.D. is being painted as evil because you just can't trust anything at this point! This is within the human mind which is fallible!!!

OH MY GOODNESS THAT’S ACTUALLY SO CLEVER. That’s why it’s nightmare mode. Nightmares are influenced by paranoia, and in that 50s time period there was paranoia everywhere. Even usually reliable things become sources of doubt. I love that theory.

It’s wonderful!!! I’m very glad that happened. I guess that’s the beauty of internet fandom. Even for all its wackiness, for all its discourse and rabbit holes and unfortunate incidents, it still manages to bring people together through things they love, people who would have definitely never even known of one-another’s existence had it not been for fandom.

There's something about the flamingos in Wonka. Something about the fact that their wings aren't clipped and they only haven't flown away yet because they haven't seen anybody do it before. There's something about Wonka being that person showing them how to fly to freedom.

There's also something about Noodle. Something about the fact that she never tried to escape the laundromat because she hadn't seen anybody do it before. There's something about Wonka being that person showing her how to be free.
